Patchan to the portal

This kind of stuff should seldom be supported. Obviously we wish this kid the best, but make no mistake—it is selfish. Patchan could have helped our team. He is presumably leaving to pursue what he perceives to be a benefit to solely him.

It's the weirdest shìt ever lol.

But this board always gets attached too & falls in love with players that aren't very good or very productive.

All Patch woulda did was take reps away from one of the younger DE's that are far more talented than him & need the live game reps to further their development.

This was the best decision for both parties.

greg would of finished with 100 sacks this year if it wasnt for baker and company starting patch over him lol

Would have been nice for depth and in case of injuries but can’t blame him. He has one more shot and can pick a school he will start at. He was 4th or 5th on the depth chart here.

Man trent Harris was much more productive his final 2 years, has more pass rushing talent as an edge defender and didn’t even get drafted so that really doesn’t bode well for patchan. By the way Harris is balling now for the dolphins

True true, probably should have said his ceiling was 5th-6th round regardless of where he plays.

Is this board retarded??

Patchan was here for 6 years & had 2 sacks... Yall acting like we just lost Calais Campbell lol

Have yall seriously seen him play, he was the most average DE we have on the team & hello we just landed Roche.

I agree with you. What I do see is the hypocrisy on what they call Black Kids who do what Patchan did. They respect his decision, yet inner city kids who come from neighborhoods tougher than any NCAA Football Team are scared, soft, or their Momma took an invisible bag. Truth is, Patchan left because he was scared of Competition it seems. This University stuck by dude through all his injuries, Put him on the field before players that were CLEARLY better, and for a team that rotates a lot with low depth he bolts. He can still make the NFL as a rotational DE... How many snaps don't matter what you do with the snaps matter though.

Patchan is a known commodity.

He gives you solid, if unspectacular, reps.

We have absolutely no idea what the young guys bring.
The best way to find what the young guys give you, is to get them the reps.

They can't get those reps because there's a 6th year Senior playing ahead of them...

Then they get frustrated because they're not playing ahead of someone they know they're better than, then they decide to hit the portal after standing on the sideline all year, which kills our depth for the future.

Patchan had multiple boneheaded penalties in games & was routinely driven out of plays due to his poor pass rushing skills. He's been here for long enough for people to realize that the best we've seen of him has already passed, he hit his ceiling already.

The younger guys still have time to develop & grow & get better, they need an opportunity to play in order to show it on the field. It's the reason why Rousseau had 15 sacks as a REDSHIRT Freshman, because he finally got a chance to play & show his development on the field.

Imagine if he were standing on the sideline all season behind an average DE that's not going to get any better, it would be a waste of time & would ultimately hurt us on the field because the better player with more talent & upside isn't playing.

Got **** alphabet feathers are ruffled.
Jit was getting reps over more talented players so this is good move for the team.
Y’all need to keep that same energy going for all of these transfers though, if others leaving because they aren’t playing makes them quitters then this applies to him as well. No exceptions.

cane for life......enters the portal

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Patchan struggled to rush the QB. He can play well on hustle downs where setting the edge or fighting through run blocks is required. But he was a liability when required to rush the QB.

Lol... we will never have depth... people bashed this kid all year... could have used him in the rotation this coming season... also wtf is he thinking
He’s thinking that between GR, Quince, and possibly Jaelan that his minutes might be limited. He put 5 years in, he wants to start.

Respect that... I don’t have nothing bad to say about an 6 year senior tryna go to the league... dude we got 3 guys with nfl potential G15, Roche, and Phillips was the #1 player in the country. He knows what’s the deal. Even if Phillips doesn’t pan out to be the #1 player I’m sure we’re going to see him on that field a lot this year. And we got some young dogs ready to show up in Harvey/Williams (both of them) lol
