Pittsburgh to hire Michigan State DC Narduzzi
According to Pete Thamel, Pittsburgh will hire Michigan State defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi as the school's next head coach.

Michigan State defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi will be the next head coach at Pitt, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. The deal has yet to be finalized and is not expected not be announced until after Christmas. Barring any eleventh-hour breakdown, Narduzzi will be announced following the Christmas holiday.

Narduzzi is considered the top defensive coordinator in the country, and he received the 2013 Frank Broyles award for the nation’s top assistant coach. He has led the Spartans to a top 10 finish in the NCAA’s total defense statistics for each of the past four years.

Fvck our soft *** BOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You guys know that Pitt is our annual last game of the ACC season, right?

Pitt might be the final straw to break Al's camel back in 2015.

If doesn't get fired this year.. He won't next year. His excuse to Blake will be we lost Walford, Duke, Dorsett, and Denzel. We will be stuck till 2019

whoever OK'd this from our end should be shot right in the ****.

The ACC wanted end-of-the-year rivalry games like the SEC. The ACC wanted games to be inter-division games so that there won't be any back-to-back Atlantic vs. Coastal match ups in the ACCCG (I bull jive you not).

Since FSU has Florida to play, Miami was stuck without a dancing partner. Pitt was the only school left.

I don't get the hype about Narduzzi. He's a very good coordinator, but that doesn't mean he will be a good head coach. Muschamp was a great DC, but he failed miserably as a head coach.

But you would still take him over Golden...

Landing the top prospects on the defensive side of the field in Pennsylvania just became real serious business with him as the head guy going up against the traditional destination Penn State.

I don't get the Narduzzi hype.

He's definitely an unproven head coach.
I still think it is a good hire for Pitt as the Big10/MichiganState-style approach
will work well with the type of talent in Pitt's backyard.
Also, Narduzzi has alot of ties to eastern Ohio, especially Youngstown, which has
been a good area for Pitt in the past.
Unproven coach, but not a bad hire, IMO.

I don't get the Narduzzi hype.

I think it's because he has patterned his defenses after the Miami defenses of years past.

I still don't get it. Dantonio has always been a great defensive football coach. So, it's not one of those deals where the DC came in and completely took over that side of the ball for an offensive-minded coach and was solely responsible for getting things going. He's done a nice job there, but he's never been a HC, and there are questions as to how much of that defensive success is him and how much is Dantonio.

This dude's a huge question mark. Might turn out great; might not. It's a total gamble.
