Partridge vs. Patrick - tale of the tape.

Both really good choices, but I've always been super impressed with Pitt's DL.
not trying to be an *** I swear but when do Pitt DL show up? Im assuming their numbers are against trash can ACC opponents...............I truly dont know but if it isnt then my my. They do look good though when they play us and seem to have good numbers.

It’s time to bring KP home . Your dl coach needs to be a bit crazy and solid recruiter . Solid resume to boot .

I like Jess Simpson

Does everyone realize that Aaron Donald was NOT coached by Patridge?

KP had JPP at USF and Chubb at NC State and at one point a couple years ago had more DL in the NFL than any other coach.
I don’t care about who coached an individual player 8 years ago. I’m more interested in the fact that Pitt has been among nation’s leaders in rush defense, tackles for loss and sacks the last four years. Partridge has gotten great results. He’s also pulled some good talent from Florida. Pitt isn’t exactly known for grabbing the best players form here.

Kevin Patrick wasn’t fired by NC State officially but he left the Wolfpack to take an “Outside Linebacker Coach” job under Willie Taggart at FAU. If he wasn’t a former player, fans would be throwing a fit if we hired the FAU outside linebackers coach to coach our defensive line.

For those who didn't know, Patrick was Big East defensive player of the year and a 1st team All-American. Instant credibility with recruits.

KP had all 4 guys from his 2017 NC State line in the NFL. Does 3 years ago count for you or was that too long ago also?

KEVIN PATRICK YES **** PARTRIDGE GET ME SOMEONE WITH SOME PULL IN SOUTH FLORIDA AT DC HIRE REED TO COACH SAFETIES AND ALL YOU MISSING IS A LB COACH AND GUCCI FOR AWHILE CAUSE NONE OF THE DEFENSIVE STAFF WOULD LEAVE.

Fair question. Partridge got to Pitt in 2017. He didn't have any all acc DL selections in 2017-18, but those players aren't generally the ones he recruited or developed. Then you see a big improvement. In 2019, they had a 1st team DT, 2nd team DE, and and honorable mention DT. In 2020, Pitt had 1st team and 3rd team DT selections on the all-ACC team, and 1st and 3rd team DEs. By 2019 or 2020 those were going to be players he is responsible for. So either through coaching or recruiting (or both) he was doing something right.

If I had to choose one I'd pick Partridge, but I'd be very happy with either.
