I emailed Matt Porter about the parking lot situation, and he said he contacted the Dolphins and he was told that the Dolphins are asking people not to line up in their cars outside the parking lots. That seems ridiculous. So there are going to be hundreds of cars that will get to the stadium either from the Turnpike or University Drive (and other roads I'm guessing), and then what - told they have to come back at 5 pm? So we are just going to have to go back on the Turnpike or other roads and drive around until right before 5 pm? That seems insane. Not that I tailgate, but that seems to put a damper on tailigaters. If they can't handle the traffic flow, then maybe they should have postponed the **** game (can't believe I just said that since I soooo want to see the Canes kick the Criminoles butts).

No way they can enforce this tailgate rule. They gonna make everyone in the car produce a ticket? Traffic will be 10x worse if they checking everyone's car.

What is this about, did they change something recently in regards to tailgating? I thought lots were opening earlier than that

As I said before, the stadium people don't even want people to line up their cars outside the gates (confirmed by Matt Porter via the Dolphins). Forget about even checking for tickets - they are saying we can't even get to the parking lot before 5 pm. Do they realize how many cars wait in front of the gates?! And now they've shortened the time to get everyone into the parking lots. So they are going to have to shove - what - over a thousand cars in parking lots in a shortened time frame with less police presence? Ugh! I guess with that in mind, it may make sense to weed out the people who don't have tickets, so that the rest of us can get into the parking lots. If they don't check for tickets as some of you have surmised, then it will definitely be chaos there.

That's not exactly how it will work. If they check at all they'll be making sure there's someone in the car who has a ticket to the game. They won't be checking every passenger.

This is going to be a nightmare due to the incompetence of the Dolphins. The 2010 FSU game was probably the last game at home this big and it was an absolute catostrophe trying to park that night, and that's not even counting what happened on the field.

So where is a good spot to post up til the gates open? I'll be on foot and more than willing to crush some brews in the Walmart parking lot til it's go time, but would prefer to not do it alone

FYI...Looks like some gates are open..

I attended the USC-VT game at FedEx field in Landover, Maryland back in 2004 with a bunch of Hokie buddies
and the stadium tried to enfore the dopey NFL rule about not opening the gates until 4 hours from kickoff.
It was a night game and the Hokie tailgaters started showing up to the stadium by 8AM, lol.
The gates were opened.
LOL at the NFL mentality.
