Parking for Gaytors Game

OK, I am going to post this, and then go back and read comments and possibly contact some folks individually.

It took some time (mostly because the students were on summer break), but I have fronted the $2,000 to secure at least 30 (and as many as 35) parking spots very close to the stadium. I will post screenshots below.

This is a RESIDENTIAL complex that sells its parking for football games. The lot will be available from 8 am until midnight. I will be completing a form and getting a permit so that people can tailgate. There are THREE bathrooms that are available to us.

Just for context...my niece lives in this building, and she helped me to reach out to the building manager. As this is MY NIECE, I am trying to take some precautions to make this a positive experience, as we are...MIAMI fans...so I'm going to ask people to be on RELATIVELY good behavior. I would ask for a commitment to RELATIVELY clean behavior as far as bagging up trash before heading to the stadium.

I have already been reaching out to some of you that I already know, and you guys are the first priority, but there WILL be a number of spots available to others. Please reach out to me via DM, I will make sure you can pay me via Venmo or a similar method.

The cost TO ME is $65 per spot, plus a $75 fee for the tailgate permit. Therefore, I am asking for $70 per parking spot. I will not make a profit and might even lose money if we don't sell all the spots, but it's a risk I'm willing to take. I realize that people may not know which car they will be driving (i.e., if you rent a car), so I will need to get a name of the best contact person (and likely the driver of the vehicle) and then closer to gametime let's try to get vehicle information to make it easier to check everyone in on gameday.

I will post screenshots below, so you will have some familiarity with the location and the walk to the stadium. Let me know if you have any questions.

No ******** around here, this is going to be one of the best spots you can get. You can pay less and walk farther. You can take your chances with your bladder. But given where MOST of your tickets are located, you probably won't be able to find a better overall situation.

Here is the site. I am not sure if they use the north or south side for parking entrance. From what I was told, they usually have one person who collects money for parking (which they may still do, as they have a handful of "season regulars" for which they have not sold me those spots), but I'm not sure which side is the "entrance" side.

Here is the walk to the stadium. As you can see, if you purchased tickets through UM, your tickets are either in the north end zone or in the southeast corner. The away side is the east side.

The north side of University Avenue is mostly commercial. The south side of University Avenue includes some old dorms. There are sidewalks on both sides of University Avenue, and the walk is very flat, no hills.

Reach out to me via DM if interested.

What are some of the best places to eat in Gainesville?
The top is good. The bar and table is another one I always hear good things about. If you want pizza Leonardo’s is good , but a tad expensive.

Any recommended sports bars or other restaurants that are not filled with obnoxious college frat boys? There are several great CFB matchups that evening that we want to watch after we win!

I’m not a big sports bar guy but my friends go to a spot called “mothers” and Buffalo Wild Wings. They tell me there’s always a good amount of Miami fans there on Saturdays. @gogeta4 there’s your answer since I never got back to ya.

@gocanes737 Is Canes United doing a tailgate for the gator game?
They are but the presold spots already sold out they'll sell the rest day of.

*************UF TAILGATE PLANS************

For those who were lucky enough to prepay, The list is below. Please do not sell your spaces without letting me know as each driver will have to provide a picture ID to get into the lot. For everyone else, I’m sorry you didn’t get in on the prepay but the spaces sold faster than I could have ever imagined. The post wasn’t even up for 30 minutes.

Parking and Tailgating will be at Parker Elementary School (just a couple blocks from the stadium) located at

1912 NW 5th Ave
Gainesville, FL 32605

We were able to secure a reserved block of 70 spaces with another 200 available as FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE at 11am! If ya can’t get in, just park and walk over or just catch an Uber and that’s where the party will be. Our friends from Caneswear will be there selling merch so make sure you pay them a visit. Food (for now) will be on a bring your own and some for me basis 😜. But I am working on “possibly” having a food truck in the lot or atleast nearby.

This was a nearly impossible feat so to get 70 spaces together with the possibility of even more is just awesome! These lot attendants have been amazing to deal with and extremely welcoming so PLEASE keep the bull**** to a minimal and treat them and the parking lot with some decency and respect! They work as volunteers for the Elementary School and 100% of the $$ we paid for spots and will pay for spots goes to the school. We have an email contract to prevent any shady stuff from happening like Orlando the last time we played the Gators. Our end of the deal is to simply BAG UP YOUR TRASH as you party. Seems like something adults should be able to comprehend! Can’t wait to see everyone for an epic throw down! Thanks and GO CANES!!

Not parking related , sorry. BUT..

If anyone in here is looking to get rid of 2 tickets or knows of someone that’s looking to unload 2 tickets, This Canes fan will gladly take them off your hands. Any offers are greatly appreciated!

Go Canes

I have the same question! Anyone have any tips on best places to park, Canes tailgate spots/locations, etc?
parking is terrible....if you get there early enough you can park on a side street close....like 11:00am. If not, be prepared for a long walk

Any particular lots you recommend, or any Canes lots? I'm ok with a long walk
