Parking for Gaytors Game

I have the same question! Anyone have any tips on best places to park, Canes tailgate spots/locations, etc?

Uhhhh...

I have 30 spots...gonna be at least $70 a pop, ALL DAY, bathrooms, very near the stadium (few blocks)...

Gotta find out about a tailgate permit before I finalize the price...

I posted this on Reddit. A lot of the gators are saying the Law school has a big parking lot and doesn't get as crowded as early but for big games it will be crowded everywhere really really early. Looked like .75 miles to stadium. We plan on getting there about 9:30 am. Got a TV, generator and grill gonna be going.

"If you don’t mind a walk, then I can’t recommend the law lot enough. I’m not one for busy vehicle or foot traffic, so I prefer it there. Still some good tailgaters nearby as well. Season opener plus a 3:30 game will probably draw an earlier crowd though. However, there are typically still spots by 10am"

I'm ubering from an extremely sketchy motel in Alachua that really doesn't have any bar near by that would take kindly to my kind.

Please let me know if any tailgates I can pay in advance because I like to party and eat snacks.

I’m interested in a spot too. If I can be there all day and be near fellow Canes fanes. I’m in.

Anyone tried the bus system for UF games? https://go-rts.com/gator-aider/

Any chance Gainesville has their **** together for that to work smoothly? My hotel is right at a bus stop, I thought this might be a chance to not have to pay a ton to park and walk a lot if I am just going to the school's tailgate that is right where the buses let out.

honestly, youre better off jsut ubering to campus and hitting up tailgates there or going down midtown barhopping. its insane to park and you essentially can park anywhere on campus after 4-5 pm on Friday but you better do it friday night and uber back and forth.

yes RTS is actually more reliable than any other public transit in all of Florida. its how all the students get to campus. you can download the app to find the routes that take you closest to university ave. there are routes that take you right up to the stadium fwiw.

if you guys are staying the night in gville, youre better off just ubering to campus and hitting up midtown after the game since its across the street.

law school is close to the swamp but the issue is gonna be getting a spot in there. you need to park your car there friday afternoon right when parking opens up and leave it overnight.

It’s the best way to go to the game if you’re not tailgating. Just don’t miss the ride back

The guys on the site made it seem like that spot wasn't that crowded. If that's the case I'll have to just find somewhere else I guess.

IF YOU PARK AT THE LAW SCHOOL, consider this.

First, there USED TO BE parking on Village Drive to the west of the law school. When I was doing my LL.M. there, that's where I used to park, but it looks like they put up some barricades and converted some of it to "scooter parking".

There MIGHT BE some old-fashioned "Orange Bowl" park-in-yard stuff to the north of the Law School, between SW 2nd Avenue and W. University Avenue. It can be easier to get out there, you just pop back onto W. University Ave and drive west. But if not, then the Law School might work too.

Therefore, if you park in the lot to the SOUTH of the Law School, I highly recommend:

A. Walk north on Village Drive OR the trails between the Law School and the Tennis Complex. Go up to SW 2nd Avenue (26A) and turn right (east) and walk.
B. As you get to the President's House, the road will recoonec with W. University Avenue (26). Keep walking east.
C. Within a couple of blocks, you will get to Gale Lemerand Drive. This is the street between the stadium and the basketball arena. Turn to your right and walk south.

The benefits of going this way include having a flat sidewalk trek the whole way through mostly NON-RESIDENTIAL parts of campus, where you will not be harrassed by nearly as many students, particularly those in the "new" Fraternity Row area just to the south and east of the Law School Parking Lot.

Also, if you have the "upper deck" seats in the 300s section, which is the NORTH end zone, this route will immediately put you in the right place for entry into the stadium.

I do see this parking lot south of the law school. I'm looking to be right around there and our tickets are also in the 300s and upper deck. Thanks for this.
