We saw two teams yesterday that were rather equal talent wise. The portal has allowed wise coaches the ability to fill holes quickly. We also (my age group) experienced a great coach that could take lesser talent and win, my reference is Don Shula. Therefore two things were demonstrated yesterday that one coach got out coached by the other. The second factor combines with coaching and that is leadership and the desire to NOT lose. GT players were more prepared and more intense than the Noles and outplayed their rival.
Before yesterday the hype about fsu was the same as what we hear about our Canes and is probably some where between fact and fiction for us but turns to be fiction about them. Cam did a lot of losing last year so does he have the fire in his belly to inspire or will he simply go through the motions believing his glorification by fans and media? Will our DL perform as advertised or tank like the Noles DL? Will our OC take what the gator gives us or will we think we can impose our will over them foolishly? Will our defense have fire in their bellies and dominate as advertised?
I know we have the talent, I think we have the team leadership yet in our recent past we lost to Middle Tennessee State, FIU and the coaching blunder last year with GT. I trust our team but our coaches need to prove themselves. And we darn sure better have special SPECIAL TEAMS! GT definitely out coached Mike Norvell!
