Something is in the air. I can just feel it. Remember the quiet/not so quiet confidence we had before the OSU game? Not sure about you but that’s exactly how I feel right now. Some interesting thoughts come full circle

1. We started the season as a home underdog against a team from Indiana and we end the season as a home dog against a team from Indiana.
2. The last QB that led the Canes to a national championship wore #11
3. We have been heavy favorites 3 times in championship games and lost, 2 with Heisman winners. This year, we have reversed trends. Exercised demons with OSU and the Fiesta Bowl
4. Team of destiny. They weren’t even supposed to be in. Didn’t make ACC championship but snuck in and playing to win it all, much like OSU last year

Anything else to add to the list? So IU will get all the love over the next week, which is another thing we thrive on. I know it’s crazy to be so confident, but I just am. A week from tomorrow, Miami will be a 6 time National Champion. Save this, bookmark it, share it, repost it. It’s happening.

...Didn’t make ACC championship…
This needs to be revisited after the season. What a joke that had a 5 loss Duke team not upset UVA, we wouldn’t have gotten to the aTm game. And I guarantee you had the ACC been presented the choice they would have put Duke in the CFP ahead of us and you can bank on that.

If things go as we want them to Jan. 19, will the mopes still complain about a lack of ACC championships, or will Mario get a pass for a few weeks?

It’s funny I thought about this to an extent. We didn’t make the ACC championship game but got to the playoffs so is that a successful season??? To me in this instance, just getting to play aTm made the season a success. The ACC is at fault for having such a pathetic situation. And the CFP committee isn’t far behind.

Completely parallels the Abe Lincoln and JFK assassinations….

The names Lincoln and Kennedy each contain seven letters. Indiana has seven letters.

Both assassins had fifteen letters in their names. Keionte Scottt has twelve letters.

Both Lincoln and Kennedy were second children. I would consider giving up my second child for #6.

Both were succeeded by vice-presidents named Johnson: Andrew born in 1808 and Lyndon in 1908. Indiana can suck my Johnson.

Conference Championships games are now essentially meaningless.
ACC Champ did not make the playoffs. SEC Champ did not make it to the Semis. Big 12 Champ got annihilated by the third best team in the BiG10.

Now Indiana is going to lose to us.

I believe Kennedy had a Secretary named Lincoln and Lincoln had one named Kennedy IIRC as I heard this in 5th grade lol

I always thought a successful season in year 4 was make the playoffs - didn't matter how. Qualifying for the tournament would demonstrate growth and progress, and that is clearly what we have here under Mario in year 4 (best part about this run is not a single fluke or lucky break occurred to keep it going - very telling).

I'll take this trade though - zero ACC championships and any number of CFP finals

Things that make you go “hmmmmmn”.

Feels like some parallels to the 1983 OB. Nebraska was considered invincible… this game is supposed to be Indiana’s coronation. Mario has built this team from nothing (with a lot of home grown talent)
and it feels like the dawn of a new era for the state of Miami.
True, Nebraska was a big favorite and staked with three heisman hopefuls. But…Miami was a pro style team with a pro coach that caught them flat footed. Revolutionized the game. I always said the Canes erased the triple option/wishbone from college.
