Ryan was sold down the river by Golden. Golden had a huge problem everyone seems afraid to touch.

O
Should have started the first few games last year. It worked out fine for us and it looks like it is working out ok for Ryan.

a normal coach would redshirt kaaya. golden didnt focus on strategies to win, he focused on strategies to keep his job. i always felt he threw kaaya in there (not that he didnt respond) because he wanted to be able to say "We have a true fresh qb"

Probably right but Ryan's chance was the year before when Al decided to stick with a one legged QB. Ryan should have started every game after Morris got hurt up until the FSU game and that too if Morris was still gimpy. Watching Al declare Ryan the starter for the next year right after the season was funny -- wasn't good enough to sub for a cripple but clear starter the next year. Golden was a joke.
THIS! I can't tell you how many times I wanted to throw the remote at the TV or punch my computer every time Golden tried to blame Morris's ****** performance the previous week on the injury, then go on to say "but he's closer to being 100% this week", only to watch Morris hobble around the following week. Rinse and repeat. Ryan should have gotten some reps that year.

Sitting Morris in favor of Williams would have done them BOTH some good. Ryan would have gotten his chance to show what he could do and Stephen could have more fully healed and been more effective if/when has was inserted back into the starting job. But as NYCane said, Golden was constantly coaching for his job.
