Packers sign developmental QB Ryan Williams...

Wish him lots of luck. Feel bad for how things ended for him here. Just unfortunate circumstances.

I'm with you on all of that but the unfortunate circumstances part.

Yes, he was unfortunate with his injury, but he should've played before that and that was Al tucking the guy. When we had Morris out there basically on one leg, Williams should've seen time. When we'd be up a ton of points in some games, he should've seen the field as well. When he became healthy again, BK should've sat on occasion and Williams gotten his chance.

Al was the biggest dumbass I've ever seen with regards to getting the next QB ready. He essentially did the same thing with Morris when he was behind Harris, just in a different way.

Should have started the first few games last year. It worked out fine for us and it looks like it is working out ok for Ryan.

Good for him...saw him working at Sports Authority a couple weeks ago

What makes you say that he should have started? The team is in a better spot now because Kayaa started those games.

Great post. I totally agree. The Ryan Williams situation showed me just how much of a piece of **** al golden really was.

The one thing you did not mention was the meeting between golden and the 2014 senior class. They went to him and asked if Ryan Williams could get the start on senior day and golden (and coach Coley) said no. We were a 6-5 team playing a 5-6 team (Pitt). There was absolutely nothing on the line in that game. Golden should have played Ryan Williams.

The players complained when he didn't start. I agree and glad Kaaya got the burn.

That's one where I'll actually defend Alfredo. This isn't Rudy. Not to mention that scene in freakin' Rudy was completely made up so Golden isn't even Dan Devine.

a normal coach would redshirt kaaya. golden didnt focus on strategies to win, he focused on strategies to keep his job. i always felt he threw kaaya in there (not that he didnt respond) because he wanted to be able to say "We have a true fresh qb"

Probably right but Ryan's chance was the year before when Al decided to stick with a one legged QB. Ryan should have started every game after Morris got hurt up until the FSU game and that too if Morris was still gimpy. Watching Al declare Ryan the starter for the next year right after the season was funny -- wasn't good enough to sub for a cripple but clear starter the next year. Golden was a joke.

Bingo!

Golden was so full of ****! He started Kaaya for job security! Let's remember the excuse, no Brad has the whole playbook, no restrictions. Then it was well he's a 1st year starter, so we couldn't install our playbook.

THIS! I can't tell you how many times I wanted to throw the remote at the TV or punch my computer every time Golden tried to blame Morris's ****** performance the previous week on the injury, then go on to say "but he's closer to being 100% this week", only to watch Morris hobble around the following week. Rinse and repeat. Ryan should have gotten some reps that year.
