"A weekend that began with rare positive news for the USC football program ended with a thud for the Trojans that resonates across the conference.
Sunday afternoon, Mater Dei quarterback Bryce Young announced he was decommitting from USC and would sign with Alabama this winter for 2020 enrollment.

Young is the No. 2 dual-threat quarterback prospect in the country in the 247sports composite rankings and had been committed to the Trojans for more than a year.

This is a significant blow to coach Clay Helton’s program. (And we assume the uncertainty over the future leadership of that program played a role in Young’s decision.)

Yes, the Trojans will have two quarterbacks with three years of eligibility on their 2020 roster (JT Daniels and Kedon Slovis), but this is a terrible look for the Trojans.

They should never get beat for a Mater Dei quarterback, much less lose a committed prospect."

And then Narbonne 5 star QB Jake Garcia went and committed to USC... so there’s that.

How’s your thread gonna go now???

Yep, that's like Miami losing a stud WR from a supposed "feeder school". Should never happen. When it does, you know the program is ****ed.

USC has many of the same problems we do....

And what appears to be a major internal battle between the “Old Guard” USC people and the new guard Boosters.

Well that escalated quickly.

One thing USC rarely struggles with is highly ranked QBs. They seem to grow on trees in Cali.

Another thing USC rarely struggles with is QB first round draft picks that turn into busts. It's insane how reliable it is. But the guys get paid on that rookie deal. So who am I to judge with my broke ***?

Lol, same here. But they never have an empty cupboard like us. This year they lose 2 QBs (sophomore, freshman) and still have a guy like Fink as QB3.....with more help on the way.

If anyone ever needed a definition of irony - like Winona Ryder in "Reality Bites".....This thread would be the place to visit....
