P. Dorsett looks like he's first in line...

Dorsett looks like a beast, and he can burn anybody in the ACC and mostly anybody we are going to be playing this season. I just hope we can get him the ball and he is able to look good without drops like 2 seasons ago. I think he is going to be getting some hard looks in next year's draft alone because of his speed.

The drops were 2 years ago, you think we can let it go. Even those drops caused the defenses to change in those games--staff just could not take advantage of it. Kid can and has taken the top off any defense. Okay he doesn't have the greatest moves to avoid tackles, but he can fly and hands have improved a bunch. OC needs to use his strengths and stop trying to make him something he is not. Between him and Stacy, opposing defenses have their hands full. Dorsett will burn up the combine and get drafted no problem.

Hopefully we have a QB that can get him the ball deep, kid can take the top off the defense and allow everyone else to work underneath. Hope he has a great senior season, kid is a true cane and never waivered on his commitment when things got rough here.

Let Dorsett work underneath, too. It's well-known that he can run past everyone on a go-route, but how many DBs/LBs are going to chase and catch him on shallow drag routes either? With his speed, not many.

I'm not worried about our receiving corps, I'm not worried about the TE's, I'm not worried (too much) about our RB's or OLine...QB--that's another story.

Fire Swasey!!!!!

SWASEY!!!!!!

Not sure if you saw it, but there was a recent tweet from Chick complementing the training staff on helping him work toward his goal weight related to body composition. Or something like that.

Looks like it is Swasey plus science and nutrition these days --- some of those things we *****ed about not incorporating like SEC programs do.

I would say he would have best average yards per reception and be second in receiving totals.

I love Dorsetts game. He can burn many many many people in the country. Coley and Dorsett on the outside. Sprinkle in some Lewis and Waters too, in the slot or outside. Not sure yet on Scott, he has maturing to do. Wildcard in Jones. Berrios coming off the injury, but he's a stud. Lot of options. I say the most likely is coley and Dorsett are #1 and #2

to win 10+ games we cant have any reciever go over 1000 yards..

we need balance..the only reason hurns went over 1000 yards was Morris threw to him ALL the time open or not with no running game its all we had him and Coley......we all saw Tight Ends open or other receivers yet he kept Allan on his short list...lets spread the ball around..you dont need 1000 yards to be a great player
just catch the ball and run good routes..

we need 2500 yards rushing from 3 backs and 2500-3000 yards thru the air using 3 wrs and two TEs

Coley and Dorsett both have work to do to become complete receivers.

I tend to agree with most of this. I will say though that if a guy just has a special season and gets to 1,000 yards in the construct of the offense while we meet all of the goals of controlling the football, 3rd down %, and TOP...then I'd be ecstatic with that. I think the only guy capable of doing that is Coley, just because of his RAC skills.

I know....miscommunication on my part as I was actually adding to your Swasey commentary, then in the same post seeing if you saw the tweet or any of the commentary around the goal weights/body composition/nutrition piece.... it was discussed in some of those canes videos, but then Golden mentioned it about Carter and Chick said something about it on twitter.

I think we are going to line up most of the time in 2 tight end sets, with Dorsett and Coley wide, and run the ball 60%+.
With the backs we have and the inexperience at qb, regardless of who starts, we need to pound defenses into the dirt.

40-50 rushes a game versus 20-25 play action passes a game, and we will do just fine.

With all the talk about the 2015 draft, I would not be surprised if Dorsett goes Day 2.

John Brown from Pittsburg St. ran 4.3 and went 3rd Round. Dorsett is a high character guy who runs sub-4.4 and knows how to sink his hips and run routes. If he has a quality season, he will be a post-season riser.

The following teams had 1000 yard receivers last season:

FSU - Greene AND Benjamin
Clemson - Watkins
Duke - Crowder
Fresno - Adams AND Burse AND Harper
LSU - Landry AND Beckham
Oregon- Huff
Wisconsin - Abrederris

Some of those are because of system, but all those teams won 10+ games except for Wisconsin, who it could be argued would have won 10 if not for getting homered in Tempe.

If Dorsett and Coley both live up to their talent and we find someone who can throw them the ball, it is easy to imagine both getting near that number.

He has a shot but I still have questions about him in the intermediate passing game. Kid can fly by anybody running a fly route, and his combine 40 will probably be very impressive. Yet he looks average at best in and out of his breaks and his speed appears to slow down when he the ball in his hands. I personally think he will really settle in in our offense as our true #2 behind Coley. I never thought Dorsett was a true #1 but would shine as a #2. I have high hopes for him, 4th-6th round pick, maybe gets picked up earlier, you never know, kid could step it up a notch.
