And we won:
Rutgers 55-0
Syracuse 45-13
Temple 55-0
But it's definitely a good point to that those teams didn't have the best records.
IMO - the difference is beating a 7-5 Syracuse team by 32 looks pretty good when compared to Kenny Kelly's results.
When Kelly was QB:
- 33 was the most we put up in any game
- Miami was #12 pre-season - and started 2-3, and then 5-4
- East Carolina (9-3) - We blew a 23-3 halftime lead to lose 27-23.
- Boston College (8-4) - we fell behind 28-0 before coming back to win 31-28
- West Virginia (4-7) - we were down 13-0 at halftime. We won 28-20, but WVU had the ball on our 20 at the end of the game and threw an INT in the end zone.
Kelly completed 54.4% and threw 15 TD 14 INT. Dorsey completed 61.7% and threw 10 TD 2 INT.
That was a loaded offense with Reggie Wayne, Santana Moss, Clinton Portis & Bubba Franks. But it couldn't get going until Dorsey became the QB.
If you look at how bad Kenny Kelly was before Dorsey, or how bad Brock Berlin was after Dorsey - it makes you appreciate what Dorsey did.
