Remember that one time when Missouri 'stole' Frank Haith?

They aren’t wrong about the talent. On paper they have a more talented roster. Just check the 247 composite roster rankings.

guy commits to an SEC school, he is suddenly a 4 star. We know what we have here. During our 6 - 7 season we sent 9 to the NFL.

They do have better recruiting rankings the last few years.
I do think there is some veiled racism inherent in the whole "dump" thing we constantly hear about Miami, most typically coming from fans of the southern schools. I think that when they say "Miami is a dump" they are really trying to say "there are too many people in Miami who speak Spanish." It has nothing to do with the school itself or the surrounding area, which is obviously the furthest thing from a dump.
There's a post on that thread where someone talks about how much we've improved, but their conclusion is that Miami is still a "dump."
I live in Nashville. I am unfortunate enough to have to spend some time in Knoxville every once in a while. Anyone who can call Miami a dump hasn't been to the city of Knoxville or compared their stupid *** public school campus with ours. **** like that is so delusional.
You wanna talk about first hand witnessing of how insanely delusional the SEC fan bases are, hit me up. I get to witness it on a daily basis. Living in Tennessee has almost made me hate UT more than FSU and Florida...
I don't know how you do it. I live in Dallas, so it's mainly Oklahoma fans out here. They're okay.
I lived in Seattle previously (just moved to Texas in June) for a year and a half prior. Husky fans out there would cool as ish. They were gleaming about the Richt hire because they knew he was a guy that could wake Miami up.
Nashville is tolerable. It's not that bad of a place to live day to day. The weather here consistently blows, but for a "southern" city, there's pretty great food, lots to do, good culture, etc. But Nashville is definitely a bit of an oasis compared to the rest of the state. I was being nice earlier...but Knoxville and UT are ******* dumps. People that rag on Miami have simply never been there or live in heaps of denial.
Funny you should say that about OU fans. There are a lot here and they're super cool for the most part. The SEC hatred is shared so that is probably why we all get along so well. PAC12 fans are generally alright too.
But yeah...the SEC is kool-aid drinking delusion and bull**** rhetoric and propaganda of the lowest order. We have just as many Bama fans here as UT fans. It's difficult to deal with. Their favorite line is, "Well, if (insert non-SEC team here) had to play against them SEC defenses every week, they sure as **** wouldn't be winnin all them games!" Sit and spin, please.
I live in Nashville area too and wouldn’t trade this place for anything. The rest of the state?... nah

Perhaps. I think it's more of a reflection of a lack of awareness of what's been going on with Miami the past 10 years and the facilities. Fans like UT ones parrot things they hear and the most common barb you see against UM is their "facilities". We've seen over the years that those comments have come from people who either have never been to campus or haven't been to campus in the past 10 years. I had ND fans last week who were on UM campus tell me that they were shocked at how nice the campus was and all the buildings.
Amongst a number of them, I believe this to be the case, especially when they're hiding behind their keyboards. If you press individuals on this view, there will be references to UMs facilities and the like, but you will invariably get " third world, Latin America" comments.I do think there is some veiled racism inherent in the whole "dump" thing we constantly hear about Miami, most typically coming from fans of the southern schools. Do Tennessee fans not realize how difficult it is to find elite talent in their state?
How many impact players has the state of Tennessee put in the NFL in the last 15 years?
Dont'a Hightower, Dontari Poe, Randall Cobb, Golden Tate, Michael Oher, Ramon Foster, Patrick Willis, Jason Witten, John Henderson.
That's about it.
