Outsiders perspective

Wait...what???

no one was happy, but you cant be livid w that game. not sure about the expectations, but considering our issues going in, i thought we played better than expected. we knew our OL sucked going in due to the Tackles and Floridas DL would eat. they did. the good news is that we had chances to win that game if not for some bad ST plays and we def have a QB it seems. the O will get better as the season goes on and we wont see a D similar to UF for a while now. walking out, it felt like both teams lost as UF got a glimpse of reality in terms of their team. theyre not elite, not close to UGA or Bama, and they know it now. also, **** orlando and that stadium. been to that stadium for two other canes games and that was the worst experience ive ever had there. from getting in to getting out and catching an uber. get rid of the stadium and build something by disney w more space around it.

There are losses that help teams grow. Blades will learn from his mistake more with this being a loss; as well as everyone else with boneheaded miscues. This is a young team, theres a lot of games still left with this core. Sometimes a young team needs adversity to help move them forward and realize the consequences of their mistakes.

It's true. A lot of Canes remember how we looked last season and were happy to see an improvement. Gator fans are worried about play calling and sloppiness. Plus with that schedule, do you really want to face AU, LSU and Georgia and sniff the conference title?

No, I totally get the part about the Croc fans leaving worried. That makes sense.

I’m just having trouble with the part about Miami fans leaving happy.

*** hat Paul finnebaum said he came away feeling like Miami was the better team

“I came away thinking Miami looked like the better team, Jarren Williams was unbelievable.”

No one was dancing in the streets, but after a loss I have never seen such a lack of depression or relative optimism.

The Oline gets better, Williams moves the ball faster, the D gets back to tackling, and Manny gets better with game management and we will be fine. Really not that complicated or all that much for everyone to be so upset about. Lots of overreactions. Every issue we knew was going to be an issue was an issue and it cost us the game.

Couldn’t be prouder with the effort level of the players. They definitely balled. Our offense was badly out coached by there defense. Nothing that isn’t fixable, but that’s the truth

I watched with a football fan- non canes fan.

His comments- why cant they find an O-Line or do something to help them. And why so many penalties? What is wrong with the coaching? I thought CMD was supposed to be an improvement

ALL of that was on enos, not diaz as enos has full 100% of everything on that side of the ball.

The defense for the most part looked like a well oiled MACHINE and that's all diaz's footprints.

THAT'S why i'm so so concerned about enos right now.

What's interesting is the national media and even gator fan had to say. Many are saying that gator team can lose as many as 4 games this season. They are also saying that JW is the real deal and those tackles will grow into really good players. Adding that the ACC and college need to be concerned.
Im still physically ill but thought I'd share.

Alot of threads on here since Saturday night about who is to blame, short falls, pit falls, and positive takeaways from Week 0. All threads had degrees of truth and for fanatic I felt exactly the same... one takeaway that was mentioned but I wanted to highlight from personal experience.. i live in the northeast on long island and I had a watch party for the game.. my buddies up here don't watch every canes game but only the marquee ones, in particular LSU (2018), Wisconsin (2018) from last season. After the slop feast that was week zero every person to a man said.. "boys balled", "Jarren is a tough mother ******", "boys fought"...no body has said anything to me about a tough canes team in years

being close to the day to day makes an L like Saturday hurt the most..the flaws become glaring, the execution frustrating.. but just maybe that outsider perspective can provide some insight on where we are heading... perhaps the quit is gone... perhaps the leadership is developing... perhaps we are close

in the end, **** the gators... **** tobacco road... lets dump these mothers ****ers...lets kick some mother ****** ***
Part of the problem is that we've got zero respect for the gaytor. That's not a problem, but it makes it hard for porsters to give any credit to our team. The only way to see any positives in that game is to admit that we played a talented team. Yes, they tried almost as hard as we did to lose, yes they were way overrated, and yes they've got a bunch of problems but they're still the most talented team we'll face this season. Maybe fsu still has better players, but uf is more talented than anybody in the Coastal.

Walking out of the stadium, it was funny to see so many Cane fans happy and so many Gator fans worried. It's going to be an interesting season. I still have low expectations, but anything better than last season is an improvement.
I can see why the gaytor would be worried, that did not look at all like a top 10 team. But why on fcking earth would Cane fans be smiling? uf is not the type of team where you get a moral victory for keeping it close.

Because we were abysmal last year. Forget all the #TNM hype. We scored on the first drive. We had motion. We had 4 turnovers. We beat the spread. Sorry if we all didn't get swept up in the hoopla CIS was putting down. Vegas had us at 8.5 wins this season. Every analyst outside of Michael Irvin had us losing this game.

Hey, I see all the positives in this situation, I just don't see the being happy. That first drive alone told me we have a chance to be very good this year. It told me that we have an OC who isn't tied to the idea that not running right at the D isn't a sin. That creating a mismatch is the other team's problem, not your own.

But I don't smile when we lose.

Sounds like a bunch of dummies who are uniformed when it comes to Miami and college football in general. Thanks for their amazing takes!
