Outside zone to the right

I thought we had a clear speed advantage and played right into their hands with condensed formations up the middle. Should have had the offense wide open.
When Fletcher ran past them the way he did on the long TD run it should’ve been a sign to the coaches. If Fletcher is this much faster than them our WR’s could definitely out run them if we could have got them in space.

But why even worry about the WR going deep if you can just run outside zone for long runs over and over.

Check the gameday thread...After that run on the next drive Dawson went right back to A gap runs...The guy has had no feel for the game this season...

Yes I would’ve liked more outside zone too, the point was get everyone out in space including more outside zone with Fletcher. Throwing underneath passes between the hash’s and A gap runs were clearly not the path to victory after Fletchers long run.

Maybe they were afraid of Beck’s deep pass ability?

Dawson certainly had his good moments (he's not all bad), but overall, he's a very lazy playcaller. I wonder how much of last year's offensive success was Cam looking over to Dawson and saying, "Naw, we ain't running that."
