Harley has a limited ceiling and his hands suck too. End of his sophomore year and i cant remember a single deep ball he has caught. Not even a poor mans Dorsett at this point, let alone poor mans JT. Kid seems tough though so hopefully he puts in the work. Could see him breaking out late in his career like Braxton did

Hightower I legit like. Strong and tough. Looks a step slow though

Pope doesnt look anything like a 5 star. Tiny and cant get open. Looks 2 years away honestly.

Ezzard seems like the tough possession receiver we need. Came in the fall late, should just redshirt and come ready next season

Njoku has talent but needs more time to develop. Worse case he replaces Langham as our jump ball guy. Hoping he becomes like Tommy Streeter (junior year) though. Could be good in time

One add'l point ill mention - the WR group has ZERO LEADERSHIP. Losing AR82 hurt bad

Cager has smaller hands than Maria Taylor ..that's all u need to know. Facts. Dugans better be scouting hand size when he is recruiting these cats.

Listening to a fan board for objective opinions on your team is risky. There are dozens of 4* kids every cycle. Most major programs have their share of them.

Not sure I follow. Opinions are inherently subjective, that's why they're opinions...Where do you get objective opinions from?

If you want to know how our WR board ranks relative to other schools, you could look at recruiting service rankings. That would give you some context. Not perfect, but when your alternative is fans blowing themselves, it’s at least a neutralish form of data.

At some point u have to look at the coaching and development or lack thereof. If these players went to others schools that maximized their talent I feel it would be a different story.

The freshmen may need time to develop physically as well. Pope, Wiggins, and Ezzard need a season. We need a new QB and better overall offensive rhythm as well. But yea, nobody is playing particularly well.
 
No need to go and dig up the preseason threads on here that assured us over and over that the Miami WR talent was off the charts and could match up with anyone in the country. Granted that was before AR82’s career ended, but still. There’s nothing quite like fan board hype.

Clemson is wide receiver U. They’ve been consistently developing college and NFL studs since Dabo got them rolling
 
They got talent but they got to prove it. They didn’t this year at all. Whole group underperformed. Yeah QB play was bad but when there was plays to be had the usual suspects didn’t make the plays

Miami as a team has no identity and no real leadership on the field. "underperformed" is an understatement.
 
We pick on the O-LINE well deserved BUT this group of WR are plainly the worst they've proven this decisively well earned.
 
some of you guys need to remember to give them time. we're in a position we have to play these young kids because we don't have depth (upperclassmen) at those spots.

you also need to remember when Phillip Dorsett was a freshman and sophmore none of you would've ever thought he would make himself a first round pick. players get better.

I usually jump to ****ting on coaching staff on these threads but

4/6 of those guys are freshmen or RSF.

Hartley is inconsistent game to game
Cager is inconsistent pass to pass

Njoku I saw get one target and make a great catch. He’s going to be great.

Pope needs to get his head in the playbook and out of his ***. Also needs some HGH in offseason.

Hightower is going to be great. Just got hurt.

Wiggins .... yeah, shouldn’t be on field till he learns to catch. But he gets open. But yeah.

Ezzard. Didn’t he get to campus last week?

We have a situation where the defense knows what the o is doing pre snap. They know the limited route tree. Prolly harder to get open when the defender knows where you’re going.

Everybody’s got The drops this year, which makes me think theres a coaching issue too. How much is on the coaches can be debated.

The players are culpable too. They checked out. Some are overrated, but **** how would they look with a better staff?

Some are just young.
