Starting to think long and hard about Orange Bowl. I think combination of our speed on D, turnovers and Hard Rock rockin can produce the W.
I think the O needs to open the playbook - get creative, stretch the field with wideouts. Was pessimistic, now optimistic. Can't wait for the game.

My concern is our missing playmakers on offense. Funny as this would be a perfect time for a kid like Mullins to have stepped up with the Richards injury. I hoping this is Jeff Thomas' break out game, just gotta get him the ball in space. He is perfect for the Richt shallow cross, stunned he hasn't been used for that yet.

OK, I saw the start of the B10 CG. OSU* was so much faster, and Wisky looked slow and pathetic.

I turn back in the 4th, and Wisky has two posessions to get a TD and win.

What happened? How did Wisky stay in the game? Did OSU* let down, or was Barret that bad?

They picked JT off twice. One for a TD and one that put them in OSU territory.

We will have receivers running open. Whether the ball gets to them is the question

Let's not forget... We were touting "speed" the last time we played Whisky. Sure, it got us a quick score against Whisky, thanks to a big kick return (by Sam Shields); then we got pounded the rest of the game. LOL!!

We can't simply rely on "our speed" nowadays, as every team in the country is on this secret/hidden speed factor, and has responded by recruiting a bit of speed of their own...

We've have to go out and play smart, execute, and prove we can be just as physical at the LOS to win this one.

A rocking OB might help though!!!

Agree about smart, execution and physicality but last time we played was a
Different administration. This year has made me more optimistic.

This is the concern for me, tOSU is absolutely stacked at every position and their only weakness is JT Barrett. They are similar to us except more talented. This is why missing our offensive star is such a concern.

LOl @ Open up the playbook...Did you watch our QB the last half of the season. EVERYTHING has been wide open and he failed to connect.

We need Rosier to play his best game in his final game as the starting QB at the U.

Statement game by Rosier if ever there was one. Last game to show you will not go down without a fight. He must know a poor showing here and he will be outside looking in on a starting job come Spring instead of the alpha who the next guy has to beat.

The key is that Rosier can deliver the ball to our playmakers.
If he cannot even throw a screen pass accurately like he did in Clemson game, the play calls wont help too much

I don't see whisky pounding us, our Defensive line is ten times what it was last time we saw them

gonna come down to rosier against that defense.

We do have a speed advantage, but this game will rely on us doing 2 things:

1. Controlling LOS. the OL creating running lanes and protecting the QB who make big runs to make up for his passing deficiencies.

2. Controlling the LOS. DL has to stop the run and use their speed to limit big runs on their counter plays. Pressure their QB.

Read, react, and execute. That is why some teams look so much faster than other teams. Yes, you can split hairs to tenths of a second, but in the big conferences there are fast players all over the place these days. You may be faster top to bottom, but of you don't have what I said first, you will look slower out there.

Then it comes down to the OL/DL, who gets the push. That's where this game will be determined.

Wisconsin's D is no joke. It's going to be tough for our offense to move the ball if Rosier has one of his "off" games. Their LBs may be 4.7-4.8 guys, but they are smart and in position a lot, especially TJ Edwards. And that Nelson kid in the secondary has 20 PBUs this year.

And let's not forget, the Wisconsin offense may look slow because they purposely do that to control the ball, but some of their skill players aren't. Jonathan Taylor is faster than a lot of players on our roster - 2 time HS 100m champ, fastest time was 10.49 seconds, also timed a 4.42 laser 40 at an Opening Regional as a senior.

This game is going to come down to 2 things -
1 - Our Dline holding up against a big, strong OLine and pounding from Taylor and LBs staying in their gaps. If we don't stop that run, it's going to be a long day for our D. Taylor is an absolute beast of a RB, but he does put the ball on the ground.
2 - Rosier hitting the open WR. I don't see us running all over this defense, so Rosier will have to make plays, period. If we go 3 and out too often, that Wisconsin offense will almost certainly wear us down.

This is a VERY winnable game with the athletes we have and the attacking defensive scheme that could create havoc against the base Wisconsin offense. But we cannot come out flat like the last 2 or get in an early hole, or else that Wisconsin offense can burn clock and dictate pace.

You mean that group that was huddled under heaters on the sideline in 50 degree weather? No way this team folds up the way that one did.

Didn't Graig Cooper blow out his knee in that one?
