Our Offensive Line

What can be done about our OLine. If this unit doesn't shape up then it's going to be a long season. The defense is going to be good enough to keep us in games, but if they get no help from the other side of the ball, expect more of the Louisville out come. If O line play is poor, than running game is bad and QB play of a true freshman is really poor. You could have the best O coordinator in the world, but if O line is poor it doesn't matter. Help!

1.gadbois needs to get out of the lineup....
2.Move feliciano to the right side of the line to balance it out....
3.Move KC mcdermott or darling or gall to left guard this season.

umm they recruit Big, Big Guys.....and then asked them to zone and finesse block..I never understood it...but we run a hodge podge offensie system, with plays grabbed from Jimbo Fisher, Jedd Fisch, and who ever d*ck Coley rode when he coached in Dade. It less about oline tlaent and more about what they are asked to do..no way we should be that bad in the run game imo..this line isnt that bad. I'm actually SCARED at what will happend against VA TECH, FSU, Nebraska. Any team that slants or moves their lines will give our guys trouble.....Ive never been a fan of Kehoe...so its whatever for me.

Its more so about play calling and what they are asking our line to do...also Gadbois isnt very good (I knew that in the spring)...and Isadora is learning and inexperienced.

When Fisch left we stopped doing those B gap counters and lead iso's. Now we are some kind of zone stretch BS with guys whiffing on every single reach block for the entire game vs FAMU.

We dont recruit the right guys to run a zone scheme, and Kehoe is still regarded as an OL because he struck gold in 2001 and had an OL for the ages. Ever since then Art has been underwhelming from a recruiting standpoint and what the product he roles out on the field. This is par for the course for Art at this point, and its not changing any time soon, OL will be a problem from here on out. Great post BTW.....
 
Honestly, the stretch runs that they are asking our Oline to do are REALLY hard to block for. I dont get it. Just put a hat on a hat and run. Not ****** rocket science.

This staff IS that bad. I'm sorry. Its everywhere. All over the field, **** that makes no sense.

Aye, a lot of cutting, pulling weak side guards that don't beat the RB to whichever gap, often congesting the play side because the center is being pushed back into the pulling guards path. Prob best to have the weak side guard cut and pull the center at this point.

I've seen some peculiar plays where the strong side TE is taking on the DE and the tackle pulls around that, in addition to weak side guard pulling. Lots and lots of cut blocks being done, both center and guard often hitting one another. And they certainly aren't holding blocks long enough.

i see all that sh*t. But i didnt put it in ol terms just gave the broad terms. Our ol blocking scheme is SH*TTY ...i said it last yr as well.....Its downright embarassing some of the sh*t they ask them to do and know **** well they cant. It was comical against UF....i mean they were trying to reach block that #2...and pulling guys..and doing all this exquisite sh*t that doesnt work just getting in the **** way and heading to the second level not blocking ANYBODY.

When it was time to just line up and mash (unc) they looked real good.....our te's suck at blocking..mostly Walford...Standish will put a hat on you....Regula is a walk on thats .....ok i guess.....Mcdermott the center is extremely weak...always has been ..never changed...Gadbois is a bum...and is falling all over himself trying to chop block and reach block guys.....

im still waiting for them to run plays that duke is actually good at....dude is ducking and doging soon as he gets the ball;
 
We need to be man-on-man, 'red' blocking. Power, Iso, Traps. Our guys can't reach and constantly miss their guy or can't get to the next level. It's crazy. We have 3 guys that are All-ACC type lineman on the left side. We should be able to ram it down defensive throats regularly.
 
No one can say our OL recruiting was affected by the "cloud." Our recruiting at OL has been impressive. How the **** can they be struggling so much? Because it isn't "talent."

The incompetence on this staff is staggering. This is just outright incompetence from Golden all the way on down.

Why in the **** don't they just ask the OL to straight mash like we did at UNC last year? I mean its so obvious that this OL is best suited to a man on man drive blocking scheme.

My theory is that they ran this by Golden and since he doesn't know a thing about offense he went with zone blocking since he loves playing soft zone on defense. Drive blocking sounded too aggressive for him. Got to love our coach F.A.G.

Wait till Arky St pulls a Wake Forest on us and slants the **** out of their DL into our zone plays. Just sayin'.
 
With the size of our guys upfront, we should be focusing on the power run game and allow them get on the guy in front of them.

Golden said in his first presser, think players then plays. He started lying right then. All accross the board he's asking players to fit into his schemes instead of adjusting the scheme to fit the talent.
