Not seeing the hype. Been 3 games and one currently ongoing this season and I have yet to see good consistent linebacker play out of any of them. Lots of overpuirsuit, trouble shedding blocks, poor coverage, and to be frank slowness. This was supposed to
be a talented group. Just haven’t seen the hype.

There were at lease 5 missed tackles on that drive & then of course #20 blows yet another coverage that leads to 6. SMFH

I agree the LBs are not what we thought they were.

They are sound players who are coachable and have great attitudes, but there is a reason they were committed to Golden.

They are too slow to fit into our attacking downhill scheme.

Pinckney is probably the most suited for this defense.
 
mccloud has underperformed, pinckney was out the second half..


still weird to post this after our D absolutely dominated a very physical GT from late second quarter on
 
Having to play the crazy offensive system of Toledo, then the consistent discipline of Duke, then the top notch athleticism of F$U then the rare option team back-to-back-to-back after a natural disaster could be a factor as to why maybe they are not playing up to the hype and expectations people have thrown upon them

Just a thought.
 
They seemed to warm up and stepped up 2nd half. I still think tackles for loss and sacks are a telltale sign
Of what’s wrong. Overpusuit. Too much chaos and not wrapping up!
