Our DL will look like a true OG Cane line for the first time since 2003

Seriously, this is the best overall the DL will look in over a decade and a half and will be IMO the best pass rushing DE's we've had since 91' & 92'.

EVERYONE on D will benefit from the threat of GR & Roche. Our DT's will definitely owe those two some steak dinners on them for all of the low hanging fruit coming their way.

If we are lucky enough to make it to the ACCCHGM, I expect to get worked over by Clemson again, but the only thing that gives me a tiny sliver of hope is the constant pressure that we would put on Sunshine. And, I believe the Tigers lose some top performers on their OL. Meanwhile, back on planet earth...

Look, it'll just be fun to watch a Cane DL dominate week after week! I think we all deserve it after the crap we've had to endure for the better part of 2 decades.
Who currently at DT remotely compares to a championship caliber DT at Miami?

Jordan Miller needs to start. I want to see the push up the middle with the De’s screaming off the edge. Let Nesta be the clean up man. That’s what he’s best at anyway.

Ford, Silviera and Miller all shined at times throughout the year. Call me an optimist, but I really like their potential for 2020 and think they can make a formidable 3 man rotation.

Well, Ford makes the All-Airport team for sure. Just need him to play closer to his athletic ability. Silviera needs to be more controlled and more consistent. I like Miller.

None of our DTs put up big numbers last season, yet we finished #17 in rush yards/gm, #11 in yards/rush, #13 in total yards/gm & #18 against the pass.

In 2015 we finished 101st against the run, and our DTs put up better numbers than last year's group.

My point is that it doesn't really matter much how many numbers our DTs put on paper. They're doing their job containing the opposing team's offenses.
NFL scouts will see the true value in DT's that don't show up in the boxscore.

Much or remotely? If it's remotely, I'd say I've seen remote sparks from Miller and Nesta. DT is usually one that relies on kids getting older and maturing their bodies, etc. My point is, with all of the actual and even perceived threat coming from our DE position, our DT's will have every opportunity to shine and I hope they seize that opportunity.

Look at our DT's in 91 and 92. No one was dominant those years, but the overall scheme and those ferocious DE's made those two of our best D's of all time. True we don't have the LB's , but with a ridiculous pass rush, the math on the overall effectiveness for the DL can work.
Russell Maryland wasn’t dominant? Really?

Those guys aren’t remotely Kennedy, Maryland or Jerome.

He was gone. Eric Miller and Anthony Hamlet were the starting tackles in 1991. Sonny Lubick worked around them.
Exactly! This is my hope for this year's DL. If our DT's can at least hold serve, then our DE's will eat and the net result is a ferocious LOS on the D side.

The top 10 2020 draft prospects at DT put an average of about 40 tackles and 4 sacks on paper.

Alot of them had fewer than 30 tackles.

Like I said, I think they can do better, especially Ford, but on the list of positions to be worried about in 2020 DT is nowhere near the top.

Personally not sold on our DTs. Nesta's next big play will be his first big play.
he had like 1-2 sacks vs FSU and had several tackles for loss throughout the season that weren’t recorded as such for whatever reason. Not to mention that after the first few games back from his injury he had the 8th highest pass rushing grade in the country at dt. Let’s see what he does when he’s completely healthy and not coming off an injury and also with increased playing time. He flashed at times this year just like any of the other dts we have did in Ford and miller. They all will have a jump in their game next year.

The 2 DE’s will help along the line. Roche made a smart decision with Rousseau on the other end.
