From today's Washington Post:

"The Hurricanes would presumably leapfrog Clemson with an ACC title game victory. But would they vault Alabama? Would they maintain their modest edge over Ohio State if the Buckeyes beat Wisconsin?

Bottom line: the Hurricanes are far from out of it. But the chances for Mark Richt's team have been hurt by the limitations of the ACC Coastal beyond Virginia Tech; Notre Dame's loss to Stanford; and a victory over FSU that failed to retain much value beyond bragging rights.

If Miami gets left out at 11-1, it will have its Black Friday no-show at Pittsburgh to blame."

This analyst obviously thinks we are FAR from a lock for the CFP even if we beat Clemson.

There is no way the ACC Champion get's left out.
The ACC Champion has played in the National Championship game three out of the last four seasons (winning two).
Clemson is the defending National Champion. If Miami wins they are in.
It is that simple.

Well, we'd like to think so but ... as many others here have pointed out -- we're no favorites of the "old guard' in college football who, I'm sure would much rather have Alabama or OSU than us) and our best wins have been diminished. He's right about that.

Beating the #1 defending national champions on the road in the ACC Championship with an 11-1 record will be enough to make the college football playoffs in my book.
 
For any of this to even matter, we need our defense to play lights out tonight. Maybe even a score (or two) from that side of the ball!
 
Total BS. Miami is playing the #1 team in the nation and the defending national champion. Win and they deserve a title shot. Anything else would be the biggest heist since the Brinks job. And fack Bama and all of their yahoo shills including this clown. They got nothin’. They’re sitting home today. ALL other teams playing today get a playoff shot before them. Deal with it. This is such corrupt inbred bull****. Ahia state getting consideration is another rude joke. In a just world, Wisky wins in (personally I hope Wisky hangs 50 on those azzholes and ****es all over Woody’s dead and rotting corpse), Awbun/Georgia winner in, Okie/TCU winner in, Miami/Clempsun winner in. Put a bow on it. The SEC can go eff itself and so can the “committee if they cave.
 
Clemson beat Auburn, and Auburn spanked Bama. There is NO logical reason to leave us out if we beat Clemson. If Clemson can be #1 with a loss to Syracuse, why the **** aren't we top 4 if we beat their #1 ?.

Also, if winning a close game against the #1 team doesn't get us in, I hope we beat them down. I don't THINK we will do that, but if it's the only way we get in, I hope we give them the Notre Dame treatment.

My bigger concern is the officiating. If the ACC feels we might not get into the playoffs if we beat Clemson, will they "help" Clemson with favorable, timely calls? Maybe it's just the paranoid,conspiracy theorist in me, but I swear, I think **** poor officiating is WHY I'm a conspiracy theorist.

11-1 ACC Champion NEVER EVER gets left out of the CFB Playoffs...EVER.

Especially not to some 2-loss loss from any conference or a team that didn't play in a conference championship game.

Most sports reporters today are attention seeking whores and only way they get attention is by stirring up controversy. Notice one thing they can not deny is the Canes are the only school in the state of Fl still in the discussion and only 6 or 7 teams in the whole country still I n and the Canes are 1 of them
