I've watched the game 3 times now. I recommend those with free time to watch the game with the play speed slowed down. It really helps you understand what is going on and lets you really see the play develop.
For those who don't know how to slow down video play speed: Go to the video settings. Click playback speed and choose 0.50 or 0.75, 1 is normal play speed. I've attched a video that shows the entire game in a condense form (23mins).
Now onto more serious matters. I'm going to highlight a few things that haven't been mentioned from what I've been reading on the boards.
TE Blocking & Physicality:
Will Mallory isn't physical at all. He got beat bad everytime he had to run block. Brevin wasn't much better but there were times where he actually stalemated Zuniga while blocking him 1 on 1. Back to Mallory, he isn't tough enough at this stage of his development. Something else I picked up on Mallory's drops were each time he was thrown the ball, he was in traffic and bracing for a hit from a defender. I need him to get tougher. I still believe he can be a good player.
WR Rotation:
I would've love to see Dee Wiggins test Marco's repaired ACL. Wilson is a physical corner that tends to remain discipline the 1st 10 yards of a receiver's route but after that he wants to be in the oppenents hip pocket, if not he panics. Wiggins deep speed would've been challenging for him. I know Thomas was playing but he had an off night so I would rather another player like a Wiggins or even a Hartley as they could've created problems for Wilson.
#55 is a Stone Wall:
Big Vaungh is the immovable object. There was a play where Zuniga stunted and all you see is 55 anchor down stop Zuniga right in his tracks. I know some might not like this but he needs to remain at guard.
Interior Oline Can be Very Good If We Leave It In Place But Have To Improve On Biltz Pick-up:
When UF stunted our interior did a really good job of picking it up but struggle mightly with delayed biltzes. UF sent biltzes from everywhere and at varying times. This falls on Gaynor. Gaynor did a good job for a majority of the night but the UF LB's had him beat a couple of times due to him not passing on a block to the guard and picking up the delayed biltz leading to interior pressure on Jarren.
#74 Looked Lost At Times:
This has been beaten to death so I'll leave it at that.
The Speed of The Game Was Too Fast For #60:
It looked as if he was waiting to see the ball be snapped before moving even though he knew the snap count. There were times where #60 would point out the correct biltz pick-up presnap but still be late in actually getting to his man which led him to overextend and hold.
#60 Balance Is Elite:
There were a myriad of times where you can see #60 overextend, be too high, or outright lean over to make a block but he never fell or was put on his ***. Balance like that is uncanny in lineman who weigh 285 or more. It's just hard to stay on your feet when shifting so much weight at once. That's an underrated ability in Tackles. If he puts it together he will be a high draft pick.
Our DT's Are Good Players But Not Playmakers:
People on this site were hyping up Ford. He performed well but didn't make enough plays. #96, #93, #99 were all good against the run and held their own at the point of attack but none were penetrating UF's line. This led to the low number of TFL's we had on the night. We've been spoiled the last 2 seasons with playmaking DT's, that might not be the case this year.
I think @DMoney made this point, but the DE's were tasked with trying to contain Franks:
Multiple times on film you see #97, #94, or # 15 drop from the line to shadow Franks. This contributed to our low sack total but our sack total should've been 4 if we were able to bring Franks down on the times we got there but failed to bring him down. I think you'll see us pressure Sam Howell during the UNC game.
#94 Is The New Major9/GW3:
He plays with a serous edge and has an aggressive attitude to him. He has the desire to break his opponents will. He played limited snaps but was constantly chirping after plays. I love it but I hope he can tame his anger, and doesn't cost us during the season.
I can't really comment on the safety play because I haven't been able to watch the skycam version yet.
