The NCAA wrestling tournament has automatic qualifiers based on certain allocations for the placers in the various conference tournaments at the different weights. Then they have limited "at large" selections for kids who didn't auto qualify. Basically, the selection committee is looking for guys who they think could make a run in the tourney. So if a guy had some tight losses at the conference tourney, was banged up, or just wrestled like s**t, but showed during the year that he belonged, he often gets a bid. There is not all this "good loss", "eye test", "game control" BS. And "at-large" selections often make big runs in the tourney, going in with seeds in the 20's or 30's and finishing on the podium as AAs. If that was the scenario with football, there is no way the Canes don't get in. They've showed they have tremendous talent and can beat anybody. That's what the CFP ought to base the at-large picks on IMO. ****, does anyone anywhere actually think BYU or Oklahoma or even Alabama or Ole Miss can win it all? Miami can.
