True. He was just short af. Last I heard he was coaching baseball at hccI was a grade behind Ronnie. Grew up with him around Eagle Lake. He played receiver his senior year and was EXPLOSIVE! He's doing great things still.

Great post. Made my day.Nixon was president, My draft number was 24. I was among the first 18 year-olds to vote, Title IX just happened. I was 1650 miles away from Punta Gorda in Dodge City Kansas hoping to get at least a season of NAIA Ball. This was the night we got our unis. I had earned a DE spot, then an OG broke his arm and I got switched to OT(Refs made me change numbers during the season). At 6’ 190 I was the smallest starting tackle in the NAIA, the other one was the biggest 6’8” 285. The big lug was just here visiting me last week.
Now when I weigh-in on O-line posts listen, because I got to block for six thousand yard backs in HS and college. A couple from Belle Glade who were the fastest humans I ever saw, and were running down those rabbit in the Muck 35 years before ESPN caught on.
What a trip Dodge City was. I arrived on the 100th Anniversary of the "Wickedest Little Town in America." If college was any more fun it would have killed me.
