I prefer Seventh generation detergent with NO scent perfume smell drives me crazy .

This could blow up this thread when everyone chimes in 😂😂😂😂

GOCANES
I actually use 7th Generation too, but don’t mind the scented detergeants.

How’d you get injured?

I made the mistake of befriending someone that was mentally unstable. I always assumed he was just clowning when he would act a little odd. Anyway, long story short, I would take him with me a lot of times when I would hang out with other friends and the girl I was seeing. He developed a thing for my girl. I left for a couple of weeks to visit my grandparents like I did every summer and meanwhile unknown to me they were sneaking around the whole time. When I came back he invited me over to hang out. A little while after we were there, he greeted me with a 357 pointed at my forehead a little more than an arms length away. I managed to get my hand up just in time to deflect the bullet but it still caught me in the neck and hammered my 4th, 5th and 6th vertebrae. A lot more to the story but basically thankful to still be here.

Holy shlt dude that’s nuts!!! Hopefully he’s still in prison.

And glad you’re still here!

Yes. When we were young we were into the electronic scene with bands like Front 242, Meat Beat manifesto, Die Warrzau, Moby etc...

He usually brings in bands as one of the acts. Recent years it's been Chainsmokers, The Cure, Prodigy etc....

Dash Berlin this year under his original name

This is why I said "probably". The vast majority of UM students could afford to spend a hundred dollars or so on a a day pass. Some of the most succesful kids in my graduating class were "stoned" at ultra. What are you 70 years old talking about kids being stoned like it is a sure fire way to be unsuccesful. Go spend a day on wall street you will be surrounded by "stoned" guys pulling in tens of millions a year.

Being stoned isn't something to be proud of, and actually believing you should be able to control yourself isn't prudish, it's rational. I don't give a **** how much someone makes, there are few things more irritating than people that can't control or handle their drugs or liquor. There's a difference between the people that smoke a spliff and are rational, and the people at Ultra. Ultra is like the old field of dreams at Hard Rock, people who go past the fun stage of drug use to the "Suzie may end up dying" point.

By the way, making a ton of money doesn't say anything about you as a person, besides that you made a ton of money. I've noticed this in your posts, that you tend to equate wealth with superiority. Wealth has little to do with that, because as we've seen time and time again, complete scumbags and bull**** artists can make tons of money. The phrase "Behind every great fortune is a great crime" exists for a reason. Remember the following: most major wealth is inherited. How great of a person do you have to be in order to not ***** up inheriting generational wealth? That bar is pretty **** low. Yes, there are people that get ripped daily and make tons of money, still doesn't make them any less pathetic. Just like their forefathers that got wasted drunk every night. It's still a pathetic life to live.

He never served any jail time. Keystone town cop in a small town left all evidence at the house which was quickly disposed of and never investigated with the exception of a family friend that was DEA on his own time.

Thanks btw.

Without the WMC, I doubt it takes off like it did.

You're absolutely right!! But the big DJ's were looking for a venue that could hold big crowds and the WMC pool party's weren't going to cut it.

Agree, but that is also part of the success. The WMC brought them in and they were already there in Miami. They had a vision and got the dj's, permits, and all the other stuff that goes into a big production. I've hired and brokered many of the top names in the world and back then you'd not only work out your deal, but make sure they had bookings before and after. It was the golden age of parties IMHO.

I'm just suprised that one of the big clubs didn't jump on it first. Pretty much how Ministry, Creamfields, etc did overseas. Props for how it All has turned out and even where. S. FL had a horrible scene IMO, but now has arguably the top event stateside.

Yup.

We’ve been big fans since the Violatir tour and ULTRA is Russell’s favorite album.

He tried getting them 3 years ago. Even had a in person meeting with Fletch and their agent but the timing didn’t work out. It’s the goal to get them before they retire. 🙏

Now that CURE is coming out with a new Album I’m going to ask him to try and get them again. They were awesome at ULTRA the first time.

I seriously envy your connections. I have been wanting to go to Ultra but just can’t see getting around in that crowd in a power wheelchair. That’s if my current modified van would even make it that far. Going to try to make the trip to the spring game and hope it holds up. Considering creating a Go Fund Me since they are so **** expensive but I don’t know anything about how it works. My current van was almost 80k with all of the mods. Sucks!

How was VIP?

Not once did I say being stoned is something to be proud of. Just like being drunk or buzzed on caffeine are nothing to be proud of either. However, if you are a well functioning member of society and like to get smashed on the weekends, that is fine. If you like to slam back extra large coffees every morning and get a nice buzz, that is fine. If you like to smoke a few joints every day after work, so on and so forth. Obviously, if you are smoking rocks all day everyday living in a cardboard box that is probably not fine, but if the guy is happy, good for him.

Many kids with great GPAs who now hold down great jobs would go to ultra, pop some molly, smoke some weed for the weekend and then go back to having a successful life.

You are correct. If you inherited wealth and didn't do anything with it, won the lottery, are a pro athlete, or a famous actor that doesn't really mean much. However, when there are tons of ivy league grads who are now working in some of the most competitive business fields in the world are getting stoned on a regular basis. When there are tons of Ivy league professors getting stoned on a regular basis. When there are tons of high level coders and engineers getting stoned on a regular basis. That highlights my point that tons of successful people in all walks of life are getting stoned on a regular basis. Most of those classic stoner bums would be bums with or without being stoned. Do you think Snoop Dogg or Willie Nelson would have been finding the cure to cancer had they just avoided weed?

It just occurred to me that anyone curious about the festival can check it out live even though this is the last night. I should have thought of it sooner.

There is also the Resistance feed for the Underground vibe which is still true EDM.

DEMF, Detroit Electronic Music Festival.

Best outdoor party I ever attended. The first was so over what anyone expected and this article sums it up quite nicely.

So many memories from that looooong weekend. Tim Price was my friend and host for the weekend. Ritchie is a nut and was a zombie by the end of it as we all crashed at Prices's place right around the corner.

I had years in the scene, but the dinner before all of it with notable names at the table:

Carl Cox, Ritchie, Derrick May, Carl Craig, Kevin Saunderson, and a few others....that was basically a very big portion of the face of techno.

A number of those photos are mine. Crowning moment of the weekend was Ritchie doing his thing. Most lit EDM moment I've ever seen. They pulled it off, really couldn't believe the crowds and met people from all over. Urb had other pictures of mine as I shot them an article, good times.

This year VIP wasn't anywhere close to as comfortable and fun as Bayside. The downtown venue was just so perfect in so many ways. You would not want to be in the main crown with a chair. They do have wheelchair access in many VIP areas though.

Dam sounds like a fun night!!!

Isn't this the reason why most big music festivals are held in the middle of nowhere? Plenty of room for big crowds. Noise doesn't bother anybody. Traffic isn't an issue. I know the city loves the money that Ultra brings but at what point is it too much of a hassle?
