OT: UCF QB is ****ed off about Notre Dame.

O **** didnt see that Penn State one lol. But yea Northwestern is ranked just bcuz they are in the Big 10 so I dont really value that ranked team. But that Penn State victory over Pitt just helps UCF really. UCF and Penn St both destroyed Pitt, yet ND struggled. ND has beaten 1 ranked team and is #3. Why? Bcuz they are ND. if ND and UCF switched schedules, ND would still be #3 and UCF would still be #11

I'm not buying this. First, ND has beaten two teams currently in the Top 25 - NW (despite you "not valuing it," it's arguably Michigan's best win) and UM - both of whom will play for the B10 championship. Second, ND crushed Stanford, who was #7 at the time they played, and VT, who was #24, at night in Blacksburg. When your best argument is "Pitt played them close," you're ignoring other facts in their favor.

Additionally, every thing that you're saying is easily as applicable to Bama and Clemson. Clemson's best win is Boston College. Bama's is LSU. Both of those teams have three losses.

I understand we don't like the Domers, but the cognitive dissonance when it comes to that program is a bit much. They have a win over a current playoff team, something no one else in the Top 10 has right now. That's why they're (deservedly) at #3.

Not sure they would be in top 4. I certainly don't think so. But they wouldn't be ranked 11 either.
Point I'm trying to make with that is that this college football committee was put together to pick the best teams and to use the eye test, but if you arent a big time program theres just no chance you are getting in. 0. They will choose a 1 loss Ohio State or Oklahoma or even a 2 loss SEC school over a smaller school every time. And its just sad

What's with all the UCF threads around here lately?

Because they still believe that those 1 loss teams are 'better' teams. But lets not kid ourselves here. Ohio State and Oklahoma sell a lot more tix, merchandise, and TV sponsorship time than UCF does.

He made a few good points. His team should be in CFP, not Notre Dame.
No way they should be in, they play nobody! That is why the offense looks so great. Play a football schedule week in and week out, you are going to get beat up. Until UCF gets in a P5 conference, they shouldn't be part of the dance. Sorry, and I even went to UCF. Also, embarrassed about declaring a National title.

actually, if UCF was smart they would find a break clause and go independent. Play ND's schedule and you can take their spot.

Why? Despite claims to the contrary, ND's TV deal isn't all that great. They make something like $15M per year, whereas the Big 10/SEC payouts approach $50M per school.

AAC's TV contract is up in 2020. Leaving the safety the network payouts provide, in addition to RIGHT BEFORE they re-negotiate that contract, is a bad move.

They will more than likely play in another New Year's 6 bowl game against a P5 team that every assumes will blow them out. Just like last year when Auburn was going to roll them. Until they didn't.

NW has 4 losses. 2 to Duke and Akron. Only reason they are in the top 25 is bcuz they are in B10. That's it. And Idc what a team was ranked at the time. We were ranked #8 at one time. Are we a top 10 team?
And yes, Is ee the comparison to Bama and Clemson schedules. the difference between Bama and Clemson compared to UCF is they can play those schedules, lose a game, and will still probably be in the playoff. While UCF can go undefeated for 2 years and 2 loss teams will be ranked in front of them.

That Auburn team finished 10-4, and currently sits 6-4. Can we stop acting like they beat the '86 Bears last season?

Boise State beat Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl in 2007 to go 12-0. They didn't reward themselves a national championship that year, did they?

My bad, I was referring to Bama/Clemson with regard to ND's schedule, and why those teams are Top 3.

So a team didnt show up to a big time bowl game bcuz motivation wasnt there? Sounds like a coaching debacle. Miami was snubbed out of a National title game and showed up to play in their bowl game. But, all we heard was that if UCF played a SEC team they would be whooped. Well they did, and they won, and then there's these excuses that a team didnt want to play in the game lol get outta here with that. I dont think they were the best team last year. But ppl kept bringing up excuses as to why they didnt belong, and they have answered those and theres just more excuses or the same excuses being brought up.

You don't think motivation is an issue when you lose the game for a playoff spot and then you get sent to the exact same stadium to play a meaningless game?

I agree with that too. Any time ND goes undefeated or 1 loss they are highly ranked. Regardless of how their schedule has performed. Bama (any team from the SEC for that matter) and Clemson are the same

What kinda player are you and what kinda coach are you if you're not gonna show up for the last game of the season, in the Sugar Bowl, and show up for your seniors? Not a very good one

That's a great speech, but it ignores reality. When you're sky high for a playoff spot....and you lose....it is difficult to get excited for an exhibition game. This literally only exists in college football. In every other sport, you're done when you are eliminated. College football makes you go out there and do it again. Auburn had nothing to play for right after having everything to play for.

Except pride and respect. Which usually means a lot. You're a great team? Show it. UCF did

LOL...some of the same b!tches that don't think UCF should be in playoffs because they play nobody, are some of the same b!tches whose panties get soaked over the mention of Kendal Briles...b!tches man.

Again, great speech, but it's not reality. Human motivation is a pretty in-depth topic. UCF had EVERYTHING to play for. Auburn had nothing to play for. I don't believe that you don't see this.
