i believe they have. she is by far the best female vocalist in her genre, bar none!

what people don't know about her, however, is that her success didn't come easy. she faced discrimination i the 1960s in the US for being black and she was unable to travel back to Cuba to see her parents before they died. the regime wouldn't let her travel to Cuba.
