OT: Tampa Bay Bucs 55, Los Angeles Rams 40

Bucs have the best run D I've seen in a long time. It's a pass-funnel defense. McVay had a great gameplan but the OL didn't play well enough in pass protection.
that’s one thing thing i can confidently say Bowles improved in terms of our defense. Even though we have given up some passing yards they have shut down some great running backs the last 3 games,(mccafferry didn’t do much, barkley was shut down when he played and gurley). I certainly Have more faith in Bowles compared to mike smith at dc though. Honestly I’m trying to see where Jason Pi’erre Paul fits into all of this when he’s back. I donT want shaq Barrett snaps getting touched whatsoever but maybe we move him to the other side or jpp over there with nassib(who imo has played pretty well) but obviously not at the level Paul was playing lad year.

I like it Goff is a system quarterback and can't handle pressure. He will always need a top tier OL unlike a Brady or Brees. Oh and Dak is overrated and I wouldn't even give him Kirk Cousins money... He can't win without help around him.

I get that - they've been lights out so far, shutting down Barkley before he got hurt, McCaffrey, etc.

But the best way to slow down that pass rush is to run at it to keep them honest. It's still Todd Gurley.....5 attempts?

Yeah these coaches aren't dumb and I think they will figure it out. On the gamesaving sackstrip it was Barrett rushing from the left side to get the better matchup against Havenstein. He pulled the nastiest move I've seen him make to date. He also had the INT on that side. If JPP is healthy he becomes the edge rusher opposite Barrett. Nassib and the DTs have done a good job of collapsing the pocket to help Barrett but JPP is on another level as a disruptor on his own.

I missed some of the 2nd half so I went back and watched it and I was wrong about the coverage to an extent. In the 1st half it was a lot of zone shell but Bowles adjusted to more man - press and off-man - in the 2nd half and Stewart/Hargreaves got beat on seemingly every snap. We still got killed on the zone snaps (LBs, Edwards, VH3 all suck in zone) but it looks like we're screwed either way if the pass rush doesn't arrive quick. Davis had his share of bad moments but I trust him the most as a press corner. I just wish he had even a lick of ball skills. We need the rookies to step up and take over for Stewart and VH3. Bunting has struggled and I wasn't a Dean fan but there's no sense playing older guys who get torched all game and have no future with the team. Idk why Licht didn't draft Greedy Williams smh. So many wasted picks from this dude.

we need to do something drastic. Like trade oj Howard who can’t seem to find his fit in this offense and Bruce arians doesn’t really seem to care for him much. I’d trade our 2nd round pick this year oj Howard and possibly another pick for a cornerback like jalen Ramsey to help improve our passing defense

I don't like the idea of selling low on Howard and I especially don't like that trade. You give up a 2nd rd pick and an elite TE for the right to pay Ramsey, and that's assuming the Jags don't ask for better picks. We don't have the 2020 cap space to pay Ramsey, Winston, Barrett, Nassib, etc.

With the way Arians uses Howard there's little if any drop-off from him to Brate but if we trade him it has to be for a cost-controlled player not a disgruntled vet looking to get paid. Patrick Peterson makes sense because we can fit his contract into space right now. It would be weird rooting for him though with the way he trolled the Canes back when he was securing the LSU bags.
