just received an email from Stubhub....please make this stop. definitely will not buy anything in the month of October from Stubhub. Hey Stubhub.... the US Women Soccer team does not bring in the same amount of money that the mens program does...PERIOD. THAT IS A FACT. My cousin works for US Soccer in Chicago. thus, they don't get paid as much. just because the US Women won the world up doesn't mean crap. the team played in the World Cup which is like a recreational tournament, 24 glorified high school teams and maybe 8 college level teams. our county is so screwed with this type of mentality.

why do CEO's think this mentality is how most people think? it's like he has the Blake James mentality

-------------------------------
It’s October, which we at StubHub deem “Sportober” as our busiest month in sports when every major sports league is in session. While all eyes are on season starts, post-seasons and major matchups, there is one fight that we at StubHub are paying particular attention to and rooting for. The stunning World Cup victory this summer by the US Women’s National Team brought the discussion about gender parity front and center - a discussion, core to our company values, that we’re keeping going.

I am proud to announce that StubHub has partnered with TIME’S UP and the U.S. Women’s National Team Players Association. Throughout the month of October, StubHub will donate $1 per order up to $100,000 for all purchases for sports events to support TIME’S UP and the USWNT Players Association's “Time’s Up, Pay Up” initiative.

The pay gap for women is unacceptable. It costs the average woman about half a million dollars - and Black, Latina and Native women lose about a million dollars - over the course of their career. This is the difference between sending kids to college without debt, buying a home, or retiring with security. The TIME’S UP Foundation is an organization that insists on safe, fair and dignified work for women of all kinds. Your purchase on StubHub will take us one step closer to closing the gender pay gap.

"TIME’S UP, Pay Up" is just one of a variety of causes that StubHub supports as part of our #TicketForward program. Learn more about how you can get involved.

I hope you’ll join StubHub, TIME’S UP and the USWNT Players in the fight for equal pay.

Best,
Sukhinder Singh Cassidy, President, StubHub

My cousin works for US Soccer, and he said they bring in twice as much. Prove me wrong.
Revenue:
The US men produced $185.7 million in total revenue over the past decade compared to the US women producing $101.3 million in total revenue. (While the women played a few more games, the men produced an average of $972k per game while the women produced an average of $425k per game). This means the men’s soccer team produced 64.7% of the revenue, compared to the women producing 35.3% of the revenue. The US women actually lost $27.5 million over the past decade on their games, while the men made money.

Pay:
The US women received $34.1 million compared to the $26.4 million in pay received by the US men over the past decade. This mean’s women received 56.4% of all pay, compared to the men receiving 43.6% of the money. (This also doesn’t count all the employment benefits like health insurance, sick leave, and the ability to have 401ks that the women negotiated to receive that the men don’t receive at all. Both the men and women collectively bargained for their salaries.)

This means the men produced nearly two-thirds of the revenue and received just 43.6% of the overall revenue.

The men receive more money for the World Cup, which is an international decision made by FIFA, but that decision is predicated on international revenues. The men’s World Cup produced over $6 billion in revenue in 2018 while the women’s World Cup produced $100 million in revenue.

Is that enough, or should we continue?

Well, I was being sarcastic with my response (my cousing doesn't actually work for US Soccer), but since you bit...

I'll just go with where did you get this information and who the author is. Could you kindly provide a link and a source?

This dude always trying to inject his politics into this. We get it they ****ed of your Orange god and now you will forever hold a grudge. That being said.....I agree it’s ridiculous they think they deserve the same when the U-15 men’s team would smoke them. Play the men in an exhibition game to show people the gulf between them and donate the proceeds to charity

...and the sad part is the men get less of a % of revenue than the women do. for the lamen, the women are getting a bigger share of the overall total money that the women bring in and the men are getting a smaller % of the overall total revenue the men bring in. let's march!

I guess StubHub was right. It's time we fought back for equal pay!

aint nobody injecting any politics except you. I am simply making a comment about a company and its leader sending out emails that are based on things that are simply NOT TRUE and appealing to people who don't know the facts.
