How badly has Stanford fallen and imagine paying David Shaw 7+ million for this clown show
How badly has Stanford fallen and imagine paying David Shaw 7+ million for this clown show
The clown show beat everyone's favorite choice for HC, Mario Cristobal. What Stanford is doing is still pretty amazing. The minimum ACT score for a football player at Stanford is the same as the minimum ACT score for a regular student at the University of Alabama. Do you realize how difficult it would be to recruit a competitive football team with those academic standards? I am surprised they manage to win even 3 games a season in a P5. Imagine if Harvard's football team joined the ACC. They would lose every game 100-0 (except against UM with Diaz running the defense, they'd lose 100-60).
They’ve had 4 Top 25 classes the past 6 years with two being Top 15 classes
Try again
Didn't think you needed to be such an abrasive ****head in your response, but that must be your default personality.
The fact that they are still pulling in good classes does not change the fact they have much smaller pool of recruits they can offer than most P5 programs.

"On the opposite end of the spectrum are the schools with special standards. Whether it's a football program for one of our military academies or a school with exceptional academic requirements, there are several programs in college football with a limited pool of recruits from whom they can choose."
It's amazing that Shaw is still able to recruit so well despite the recruiting restrictions. They have a program where the HC has one hand tied behind his back in recruiting, yet still manages to pull in top classes, upset the most talented team in the conference, and in the last 10 years he's won his division 4 times, and winning the conference twice. If anything that proves that he's worth every single penny of his salary.
38 - 0 at halftime & Utah has rushed for 336yds in the first half while holding Stanford to just 28yds total.
Stanford’s problem is they don’t have their QB & they still run that same West Coast offense with Tavita Pritchard as their OC. It’s the same offense they’ve ran since 2011 when they had Pep Hamilton as OC. It works when you have NFL personnel at QB, RB & OL, but their current roster is a former shell of itself.
Their normal starting QB Tanner McKee was hurt for the season vs Washington, but even with him being out Tavita isn’t a great play caller & their run game has been pretty average this year, hence why they’ve sucked because for Stanford, everything they do is predicated off the run game.
But most of their coaching staff has been there for 8-9 years, Shaw has to mix things up & get some new blood on that staff, because his last official winning season was in 2018, but aside from the 2019 season he’s had nothing but winning seasons his entire time at Stanford.
Although I would still say the PAC-12 is a pretty easy conference to have a winning record in, but Stanford’s degree of difficulty is what makes it impressive with how scarce they are with scholarship offers.
