OT: Spotting the Ball

To me it seems like the refs are often exceptionally bad at spotting the ball and that it's probably just a bad system having the refs eyeball it.

What do you guys think of going high tech and putting a little chip in the ball or something else like that to make it more accurate?

The reffing this year has been noticeably worse than usual. The ACC needs to just fire the refs.
 
That would be the “right” thing to do - but then you’ll have “purists” saying that the human factor is part of the game, yadda yadda yadda. Same **** you hear about having computers call balls and strikes in baseball.

It could even save time since the refs take forever to review some of these calls. It's just frustrating to watch games and see the refs spot the ball in an egregiously bad location and it change the game. Your right though, some people will say that's part of the game

Chips in balls is the future.

Likely will see it within the next decade.
