OT: Space-X shuttle launch in about 40mins

Fortunate enough to have grown up in Tville like 2-3 miles from the launchpad. Night launches were so amazing watching the whole river light up. The best part was the reentry which you never really were prepared for. All of sudden there would be a sonic boom loud enough to flex all the windows in your house and kick you in the chest. Felt like a bomb going off at the end of your driveway.

Very cool! Lived in Brevard several years myself. It's wonderful to have Space-X there now.

It was definitely cool to live in a "space support town". I still have dozens of friends and family working in the industry. I still have a copy of my federal trespass warning when i was kayak fishing too close to the pad on launch day. I was escorted by a chopper with .50 cals and a coast guard boat full of soldiers lol.

The guard forgot to lock the back entrance gate. Whoops.

Dude. Elon musk out there making space ships that actually look like space ships.
NASA and Russia putting out 82 Volvo 240 diesel station wagons. The inside of that capsule and the space suits look like a **** Hollywood movie about the future. Clean AAAAAFFFFFFF!!!!!!

My brother called me and said the same thing. Said it looked like the future in a movie. Lol

Long live Elon Musk! I'm thrilled to see private enterprise take this step.

My cousin's husband is the lead engineer on the raptor so I got to do a tour at SpaceX a few months ago. It's incredible what they do. They were actually putting the capsule together in a clean room at that time.
 
I predict it will be delayed because of weather. Just talked to my prophecy guy...he rarely gets 'em wrong.

Pretty soon I'll have the full 2020 signing class.....just wait.

I used to watch 'em back in the '50's....I go way back with Cocoa Beach. I think IU saw one go off course and get destroyed....so long ago, hard to remember. That was much more common back then. They are so much more advanced now.

To think that the space shuttle was running on basically a few computers with the power equivalent of Intel 286 processors...and the hundreds of little flip switches on the flight deck.

The moon launches were with the equivalent of a Casio non graphing calculator.
And my 7 year old uses an iPad with 32g a 12 megapixel camera and gps.
