OT (Sort of): Recruits should avoid Michigan

Apparently, Zircon Jim isn't sparkly in the eyes of the people who know, i.e., his peers .... it's one thing to be mistrusted and despised, (Sabag), it's another to be singled out as the most overhyped farce in your profession.

Jim Harbaugh Voted Most Overrated Coach in College Football

He's over publicized but not overrated. Major success on both levels. I expect Michigan to take a step back next year because all those seniors left. He's still 2 years from fixing that roster into a natty contender.

Harbaugh is a very weird dude. He is a strong motivator for a short period of time and then he burns people out. That is why he is much better in college than in the pros; he needs turnover or they tune him out. Is he a proven winner? Not of any final prizes. No championships and not even a college conference title since San Diego. Having said that, I think he'll win a title at Michigan, but it will almost be in spite of himself.

He is his own worst offensive enemy. He loves to build his team around the quarterback (hard to do consistently in college) and he can't resist being cute and showing off his toys (see the centipede and those other bull**** formations last year?). The end result is that he doesn't develop bread and butter offensive plays. You beat Harbaugh's Michigan by hitting them in the mouth, keeping it close for a half, and letting them fumble around, trying to figure out what to do consistently. See Iowa v. Michigan last year for the blueprint.

In his 6 years of coaching in a power 5 conference (4 at Stanford, 2 Michigan) he has never won a conference title and has only finished the year inside the top 10 one time. And his team's have been loaded with talent. Tier 2 coach until proven otherwise

Took a Stanford program and made them a perennial power. Took a horrible 49ers organization and got them to the SB and several NFC title games. Took a dump of program in Meechigan and turned them into a formidable opponent. I would say he's far from overrated, but I know he's a prick, personally. Regardless, he's a really, REALLY good coach.

"Overrated" is a tough one. The fact that Saban is #2 on that list shows that it's mainly jealousy and tiny ******** syndrome behind the replies.

Is chocolate overrated? Are the Beatles?

The fact that he went to the NFC title game 3 years straight and was close to winning a Super Bowl does it for me. He's by no means overrated as a coach.

Dude takes programs from mediocrity to championship contender. He turned Michigan around so fast they're already calling him overrated. HC are suppose to be judged 4 years in and dude getting judged 2 years in. Dude can coach and dude makes the right moves. Dude made Stanford despite how difficult it is to get talented recruits into their school into a consistent PAC-12/Rose Bowl championship contender. He took turned Alex Smith into a solid QB and had people thinking Kaepernick is a franchise QB. Dude went to 3 NFC title games and the 49ers instantly fell apart the minute he left was fired.
