It wasn’t the right call because Clemson still had 3 timeouts and plenty of time to get into scoring position. He’d have essentially forced Clemson to be more aggressive throwing. Higgins was destroying them all game long. That’s a bad bet all the way around by Mack to go for 2. They’d have had a great chance in OT IMO.
