Probably the greatest actor of all time is gone. He lived about 4 miles from me here in Nassau Bahamas. He had just celebrated his 90th Birthday in August with limited attendance due to the virus.

I heard that he dropped out of high school. Competed in a Mr. UK contest. From there was introduced to an acting career. To prepare, he read all of Shakespeare's plays. When 007 movies came around, he was ready although not Ian Fleming's first choice. The man was truly special.

For me, he represents a different time when optimism and good vibes prevailed in spite of the turmoil associated with Vietnam and Civil Rights. I wish that I could relive those times knowing what I know now. Connery was the man we wanted to emulate, thinking that if we could be only a fraction of what he represented it would be good enough.

RIP Sir Sean Connery.
