OT: RIP Leslie West

Long-time friend of the Stern Show. I used to love it when Leslie would come into the studio (or later when he would call in when his health declined). He had such a distinctive laugh, one of the most memorable, along with Robin, Jackie, George Takei, and Gilbert Gottfried.

Leslie's birth name was Leslie Weinstein.

One of the greatest players of our generation. He will be missed.

I see what you did there.

He had a baseball scholarship.

And took a different career path.

He hit it with power...not a switch-hitter...I don't think I ever saw him use the glove, though...

I got a million of 'em. I'll be here all week. Order the veal.

Watch Leslie West play while in a chair on YouTube. This was after he had his legs amputated due to Diabetes. He never let it beat him, watch his love and passion for his craft, Saw Mountain in'73, after Nantucket Sleighride was released. Few men in the business could pick an Axe like Leslie West. Him and Eddy must be havin' one **** of a jam right about now. RIP Great One.
