He was behind Burroughs before he left for Baton Rouge. Again if he was so good, he would not be struggling to win the job against two mediocre power 5 QBs. Do you have a TV? If so, did you watch Kosi? Do you know Williams couldn’t beat him out for playing time. Please don’t mention Tate in the same week as Baker, Murray, Lawrence, Tua or the rest of the elite QBs, not even close.
Lol at behind Burrow, why do you think he transferred? He absolutely is in the same mold as those, how much so is up in the air. He hasn't had the opportunity they have yet, he's a redshirt sophomore at a new school learning a new system, while Baker and Murray are in the NFL. Tua was the ONLY QB rated higher than him in the entire nation coming out and Tate gave him all he could handle during the elite 11. Tua nor especially Trevor, have the elite elusiveness and cat like quickness to get out of bad situations. Please don't say not even close when you have no idea. Tate's future is coming and I'm glad he's a Hurricane!

One small difference: Tate can’t make the throws period but you know more than our past greats. Maybe we can run the single wing. FYI Burroughs left because of Haskins not Tate but you know more than the football ops guys at O$U Again if Tate was so good he would not struggle to beat the other two guys out

Surprised Tyree Jackson didn't get drafted.

He has a bit arm. Erratic but definitely has potential as a developmental backup. If Paxton Lynch is still in the league...no reason why Tyree can't get developed with low risk.

Ok bud believe what you want. I've seen him make extremely accurate throws, even on an opposite rollout across his body but keep believing he can't throw.

I will. This isnt high school or a 70-7 blow out. Maybe you should call the Enos because I don’t think he’s sold!

He shouldn't be. The kid has been practicing for a total of what a month? Lol, I'm not directing this at you but it's comical and so like Miami "fans" to give up on an elite QB because he didn't dominate other quality QBs immediately after transferring and starting with a completely new city, school, coaching staff, teammates, etc. He's a bum!
Also, what exactly does high school or a scoreboard in a college game have to do with his ability to throw or anything else for that matter? Dumb.

OP is all over the board with HOT TAKES

I think he did not come here as he was not guaranteed the starting job

twas a BIDNESS decision and I respect it

According to some astute observers, our QBs “struggle against air!” For the uninformed, they can’t make throws when there are no defenders on the field!

Paxton Lynch completed over 66% of his pass attempts; with 28 touchdowns and only 4 interceptions for 3700 yards his junior season. The fact that Lynch was anywhere near the first round is a mystery. But then John Elway is hardly a quarterback whisperer and he is singlehandedly killing the Broncos in the front office right now. Bet you the Seahawks cut him.

They're all learning a new system, give them time. Tyree or any other QB wouldn't change that and like I said, my faith in Tate comes from diligent study on every film available. He absolutely has elite skills, Enos is changing some of his fundamentals to tailor to his offense; he finally said so himself in an interview after the second scrimmage. Have faith my friend, we have 3 QBs that are top 10 overall at their position. One of them will produce, my money is on Tate but that is my opinion.

Who are these "astute" observers?

i am hoping against hope you are right, but when the HC says, “We’ll play the guy who makes the least amount of serious mistakes,” and people that know more than anyone here are not happy with what they see, it is concerning. We need a difference maker at the position and I don’t see one. I guess we will find out in a few months.

Meant to say Tyree or any other QB wouldn't change that but I respect your opinion and response. It's way way too early to write anyone off and Enos is a great developer and also seems like a perfectionist. We need him to push them all but I honestly feel we're in a better position at QB than we have been for a long, long time. Having Enos to teach 3 top 10 overall QBs is even better!

All very good points. I was really just trying to say, if Lynch was worth a 1st, taking Tyree in R7 isn't a stretch to me...they project very similar to the league...where yeah, Lynch came in more accurate.

University of Buffalo QB Tyree Jackson was considering a transfer to UM prior to declaring for the NFL Draft. Protected by some as a third round pick with the strongest arm in the draft, he went undrafted and signed with the Bills as an UDFA. According to some people who would know at UM this kid could. have played here.

He’s an idiot. Convert to TE & call it a day.

The MFer can’t throw accurately on a consistent basis to save his life.

Just a few guys that have a little knowledge about playing QB at UM at a very high level, but what would they know!
And once again...Dont short change people on this site...for every few knuckleheads on here...theres also very knowledgeable people as well...Ex players...Coaches...etc...
You'd be shocked...
