Don't sweat it tenman. Remember, his (and other's like him) job is to create something to talk/argue about. When they run out of content they start pushing "best XX ever" and tend to create conflict by picking a controversial player, team, coach, etc.

There isn't a single objective argument that can be made the 2001 national championship team isn't the greatest all time. The stats alone are incredible. However, the only argument you need is to look at the NFL players that came out of that team - there will never be another group like that. Ever.

He'll argue that what guys do in the nfl has nothing to do with how good a college team they were. He's still wrong.

How anyone(ESPN) thinks this guys opinion carries any weight is beyond me. The guy just tongues SEC taint all day and gets a TV show. Best part of his show is Pollack making fun of him. The SEC is in decline, Ole Miss, Tenn, Auburn, Fla, Ga, LSU & TAMU all going the wrong way with the exception of Bama and Fanbaum is a a national joke. He knows Miami coming back an shutting down SFla is how they SEC finds it way back to the middle of the pack. I give that show another year before they pull the plug or replace it with some Big10 homer who spends the whole show blowing Harbaugh & Meyer. ESPN sucks.

Anyway why should we ******* care about who Finebaum considers the best team ever to be? Or what anybody else considers the best team ever to be?

This years Alabama team isn't that great. Yes they are better than everyone else and in most cases by a wide margin. Look at their conference who was any good with a QB who can throw it with velocity? Kelly from Ole Miss and they put up 43 points. LSU never scores vs Bama check the history.

Not saying they aren't good they are very good just not for discussion in all time greats category. That Washington semi-final game will be an obliteration only team that may have a chance is Clemson 1) Because they played them last year in a classic and 2) Watson's arm as long as he doesn't get picked every other play.

Finebaum is on crack tired of defending the 2001 team doesn't need to be defended I never saw a team dominate the completion at home like that. Also they did it with a subpar coaching staff let's face it.. Only place Bama and Huskers gets the nod is coaching.

We should settle this dispute by having the players on the 95 Cornhuskers play the players on the 01 Canes. Sure the Miami players may be in their late 30s and the NU players in their early 40s. But let's schedule that game, on New Years Day 2017 in Sun Life Stadium.

I actually think the 2000 team was even better. It was basically the 2001 team + Santana Moss, Reggie Wayne, Dan Morgan, James Jackson, etc...
 
I have said the same about the 2000'team. How they managed to lose that Washington game is one of the bigger mysteries of the world. That team was ridiculously stacked.
