Mike McCrearey was the hero who reported to Paterno and University officials that Sandusky had sexually assaulting a boy in the showers. The so the denials of Joe Pa and the University not knowing what was going on was total B.S.

He was rewarded for that good deed later by being fired by Penn State.

To this day, many PSU fans and alums spit after saying his name and he has continually received many death threats. Yes, DEATH THREATS for daring to report that foul deed to Paterno and later testifying that he did so. Most of you cannot imagine how difficult it is to testify against the head of a cult in his home area. The man had to be guarded night and day as a result. He still hasn't been able to find employment to this day.

He later filed and won a wrongful termination suit against the Penn State University and was awarded several million $$. But the stress and fear from testifying against "St. Joe Pa. , I'm sure limits his ability to completely enjoy it...he said recently that he still receives death threats for reporting on those sick ********. PSU has one of the , if not the largest alumni base in the U.S. so no where is completely safe for him.

Dang, I love football ....but I'm human being first, some things just can't be allowed no matter how much you love a friend or your Alma Mater. McCreary is a hero and more importantly a human being with strong principles of right and wrong. Evidently that's not a good thing to be in Happy Valley its just better and easier to believe in the BIG LIE.

I don't like saying that any university is a fine academic institution when top administrators participated in looking the other way re child molestation. I get what you were saying re the high academic scores etc. but Penn State was and is a very twisted and sick university IMO.

I wasn't concerned with saying Paterno is/was an old fool; however I think that he was much worse than that. someone who enabled Sandusky and took no action to stop that monster and his crimes for years is a criminal and a scum bag in his own right, IMO.

I think you have to seperate the football and the people that support Paterno from those that don’t. Independent of Paterno and the football team, it’s considered a good academic institution exactly as I described them.

I’m not being an apologist for a Paterno, nor anybody that supports him. In fact, if you’ve read any of my posts I’ve described many there as being cultists.

But there are also a bunch of people there who are graduates, who teach there, and who attend there who think exactly as we do. It wasn’t the institution that committed the crimes. It was those people that were there at that time and looked the other way. The ones that continue to defend Paterno should also be called out.

You sound like one of those people that would give shlt to somebody if you found out they went to Penn State without having any idea where they stand on the subject. Some of them hate Paterno worse than we do.

Yes, there’s a bunch of idiots that still worship him. Too many. But don’t make the mistake they’re all like that. Look up Sara Ganim.

I'm sorry, but McQueary wasn't a hero in this. He walked in on Sandusky pound caking some child, and DIDN'T STOP IT RIGHT THEN AND THERE. If a cold blooded killer like Richard "Iceman" Kuklinski could find the heart to stop a child from getting raped, then this man could have done something outside of run to his dad, and then to his boss. Frankly, the FIRST call should have been to the **** cops. That is after he beat the living tar out of Sandusky in that shower. What happened to McQueary was awful, but let's cut the nonsense: He bought into the cult too, and has gotten what he deserved. A man gutless enough not to stand up in the moment for a child, isn't someone I would want in my program.

The DA during that time Ray Gricar not only disappeared under mysterious circumstances in 2005 he has not been heard from since. Makes one wonder. That could be the real story
