OT: Pac-12 Championship Game

Word is Colorado offered Him $5M a year plus incentives...it that's the case, He'd be the dumbest MFer on earth to turn that down and wait for a lower seven figure GO5 job that may never happen.

Its crazy when I was little they were actually a pretty good program. Won the natty one year with somebody else. I wouldn't take the job, its a deathtrap for coaches. Deion going to keep getting offers by better programs as long as he keeps doing his thing

High praise man. In reality Caleb Williams is who people thought Kyler Murray was. Same player but Caleb can legit throw the ball anywhere and moves with a purpose. K1 always just sort of ran around for no rhyme or reason
If he’s who people thought Kyler would be, a more controlled version, that’s a **** good quarterback

I wasn't the one that brought up two of the three best QBs in the NFL...
You asked if his style of play works. I gave you clear examples. If you don’t like that he plays similarly to them, I don’t know what to tell you lol

Funny that coach Wittingham and Urban Meyer said the same thing about playing championship ball.

Toughness and running the ball.

Same thing Mario preaches.

Give Mario time to build the program he wants.
This is why I am a big fan of Jeff Grimes from Baylor. He runs a ton of different looks from 12 and 13 personnel. Would be awesome to find an OC who knows how to utilize our TE's. We'd be back to the Old Miami🤙

We must be around the same age, b/c that’s the age they were good & won a Natty. ****, they were cooler than SC & UCLA at that time, & we fa sho used to play w/ Colorado on EA NCAA Football.

That was Coach McCartney. Best run they had w/ him. They won the title when I was like 8, but I don’t remember that team, too, much (maybe b/c I was so whiny w/ that 1990 Canes team, lol). The team I remember was that 1994 team w/ Kordell & Rashan Salaam. That team was actually better than the 90 team, but their only loss was to the eventual Nat’l Champions, Cornhuskers, who beat us despite us wearing their *** out in the Orange Bowl. Smh.

I’m not sure what happened to Colorado, but they were a really good program from 1998 - 2002, & then purgatory. I’m sure it was due to the rise of SC & that CA pipeline dried up, along w/ OU & UT coming back to power, but wow.

Wow, my memory so bad that I forgot a lot of that stuff but the names you threw at me just brought it back. Coach McCartney, Kordell Stewart and Rashan Salaam are names I haven't heard in 20 years. I remember Kordell had that hail mary on Michigan. When I started watching College Football, Oklahoma wasn't even that good it was usually between Colorado and Nebraska in the big 8 and at the time they were the big match in that conference. Its crazy how Colorado progam has fallen

Yeah, their ceiling is PAC-12 championship, and maybe a NY6 game.

Colorado got caught up in a scandal that nothing really came about it around 2004-05. “The ordeal”. They’ve never fully recovered from accusations of “sexual improprieties and assault” by some of the guys around the football program. Nothing was ever founded, but nevertheless, it hurt them in recruiting and Oklahoma and Texas really widened the gap in the Big 12 during those years. Colorado has yet to recover.

Y'all killed Mario for losing to Utah..... Remember?
In fairness, didn't Oregon get drug twice last yr.? SC got beat at the buzzer in Utah and it did get away late last night. Game was competitive, however.
I was thrilled by the Cristobal hire, and he's a great recruiter, but I ain't vouching for what I saw this year. We can only sit back and hope he ain't a coaRch. TBD, imo.

I totally agree Colorado is a death trap dead end. He wanted to jump straight to the P5 level from FCS which I think is a mistake. I think going to a G5 school would have been a better option for his career path to the P5 level.

Unless he can load up on recruits and transfer players, Colorado may not see any improvements in wins vs losses. He's looking at a complete rebuild down to the foundation. He needs deep pocket NIL boosters to back the program to get difference makers into the program. Otherwise, he'll have to build a program with subpar to average players the way Matt Campbell, Matt Rhule, Dave Aranda and others do. If he can win by developing average players, I'd be very impressed.

If he can get Colorado to bowl eligibility in 3 years, I would consider that a success.

Win or lose, we're going to see if he can build a program and coach at the P5 level. I just think it's too big of task for any coach especially one without seasoned coaching chops. It could kill his coaching career when it's just getting started.

on them Colorado teams back in the day too. Shootin' gang signs in the team photo :ROFLMAO:

Apple to oranges.

At least USC put up a fight until the last few minutes of the game, with a QB playing on one leg.

Mario’s team last year got completely obliterated by Utah in both games. They didn’t even have a pulse. You know, sort of like our team this season in most of their games.

USC at least showed heart for most of the game, until late.
True but at that point last year Mario was pretty much one foot out the door.
