It was b ll**** then and it’s bull**** now. Only conference champs should go. Even if it appears they suck.

Don't get housed at Iowa and home against Okl. No way they should be in with that on resume

You mean Suckeyestreit? Sorry, I forgot about him whan he walked off the set, protesting the CFP not making the "political" choice....

Sort of like this sucknut, who can only say, "WOW!" repeatedly:

The rest of you should have to deal with these myopic morons like have to on a daily basis...CIS may have a few, but not a STATE FULL!

If you can’t win your own conference then you don’t belong. Doing it that way limits the committee from picking the usual favorite overhyped programs. Takes away a lot of subjectivity. Bama doesn’t have the bad losses but they havn’t beaten anyone this year either. There should never be two teams from the same conference in a 4 team playoff.

Makes me feel a little better about that Pitt loss knowing that if we went into that Clemson game undefeated and would have lost they would have jumped us with Alabama regardless.

They were putting Alabama in the Final 4 unless everyone in the top 4 held serve, they had the worst resume of anyone in contention and they still got in.

Clemson is going to steamroll them.

The committee set the precedent and were forced to live with it, as a consequence. Taint helped them with 2 losses and getting absolutely trucked, by an unranked Iowa team. The only way to make the precedent go away is expansion, to an 8 team field. At least I get to watch OSU fans cry, instead of gloat.

You cannot simultaneously have a 4 team playoff, and the argument that you need to win your conference to get in with 5 major conferences. The mere concept demands subjectivity, which conference to leave out based on opinion.

People STILL do not seem to want to accept that nowhere in the metric does it actually say conferences are weighted for anything other than to break ties between teams the committee deems the same to their eye test. It would be within their right to put a 5 loss Bama team in if they **** well pleased, because again there is not any cemented criteria other than making the committee think you are one of the 4 best in the country.

While I hate that bama found a way in......them finding a way in at the expense of osu is sweet.

Apparently it wasn't even close in the collective mind of the committee. At least that's what I gathered from the initial interview on ESPN minutes after the release. Maybe they softened later.

They were looking for the 4 best teams and Alabama stood out as one of them. That is absolutely correct. IMO it is an awesome rebuke of all the morons who have been obsessed with strength of schedule for the past decade or so. Strength of schedule is an invention of simpletons. I don't know anyone in Las Vegas who takes it seriously or uses it as a tool. If you have to rely on that then it basically screams you don't know what the **** you are doing. Any genius can figure out that Team X played a tougher schedule than Team Y. Congratulations SAM.

How good are you? That's always the criteria. Not how good are you playing, or how good are the opponents you have played or defeated. How good are you?

A day or two ago I saw somebody post here that USC would defeat Alabama right now, because of how they are playing. That's exactly the type of person who would get blown out and leave town broke on a bus when I lived in Las Vegas. How you are playing now means next to nothing. USC would not defeat Alabama. Alabama is simply superior and would maul them in the tenches, just like opening game last season.

I applaud the committee for big picture logic and not stupidity like evaluating Alabama's struggles against Mississippi State and Auburn. Leave that to the talking head overreacting types.
