OT: North Florida

You didn't miss a Cot **** thing...Panhandle (Navarre too South Walton) was complete Bliss in the 70s...80s..and 90s...once the 2000s crept in it started turning to crap...
The beaches are the best in the country. Was in the 'Handle for the first time in 12 years two weeks ago. Drove from Tallahassee to P. City and back.

Crazy stuff, my man. Lol. It sounds to familiar. You mentioned Highway 90. My grandfather's address is still highway 90 in Sneads Fl. I can't get away from that **** road. I practically grew up on that road in Sneads, Fl. I moved to Tally and stayed on that road (Tennessee street). I moved to Jax and my first place was off of Beach Blvd, which is highway 90. 3 different cities, same **** street. Lol
Growing up in West Palm Beach my mailman was from Marianna. He claims to have been born at home in TWO EGG.

No way are their Beaches nicer than Sarasota's...especially Siesta Key and Longboat Key....That being said...they're still Beautiful....and were even nicer in 88 when I moved to Destin...Once that Texas/Louisiana Oil $$$ recipients hit the Destin area around 87...is when all the Tall Condos (blocking the Gulf view) started going up like crazy....One of my best friends (HUGE FSU Fan) has a home in South Walton (Grayton Bch) which is absurd...

Back in CaneinOrlando's youth (74-mid 80s) I'd put Sanibel and Captiva Islands up against anything in the State 7 days a week...of course I'm partial having grown up 25miles away...and lived on Captiva from 81-83...but still....Place was beyond Magical in its heyday...

Siesta Key is absolutely gorgeous, but I think Destin will give it a run for it's money, in terms of pure beauty. The sand in Destin is whiter than the "horse riding" gear in the great state of Mississippi.

I lived in Destin (Holiday Isle) in 88 & 89...fished off the Jetty's all the time...Good times...

Okay. I think I remember you mentioned Quincy before. My bad.

My father still works in Quincy to this day. I too will be that way next month for the juco state basketball tournament from the 4th-7th

I concur fam, my mom's mom's side of my family is from Greenville, 40 miles east of Tally. That **** is South South Georgia, literally no difference. My dad's dad is from SW Bama, so naturally I have a lot of family in and around Pensacola. That **** is South Southeast Alabama, literally no difference...

My pop's side of the family is literally from a town called Florala. Flor. Ala. Thank God for the uncle who brought some fam to South Florida cuz the thought of growin up in that lil one street light *** town is DEPRESSING.

I live in Navarre & would put the Emerald Coast beaches up against any in the country. The Gulf Island National Seashore between Navarre Beach & Pensacola beach is amazing. My "go to" is Cape San Blas to the east of Panama City. Love Port St Joe and St Joe bay. It's like stepping out of a time machine 60 years ago. Bay is teaming with life & the Cape is simply incredible. Recovery from Michael is making some pretty decent progress.
