OT: NFL players is asked if he "likes men" during Combine interview

I know these players are going through the biggest interview of their lives, but if I were asked one of these ridiculous questions i'd be a straight a.sshole with my response. These GMs and people conducting the interview take it too far.

I'd love for a stud that knows he's a guaranteed 1st rounder to just be like next question b.itch lol

Honestly, that would probably be a great response in the eyes of the team asking that question. You don't think some jock sniffing roid rager won't ask them that same question in a bar at some point? If you can't rise above and handle it, they'd rather know before they commit millions and their job security to your future.

It's not how I would go about things if I was in that GM/scout/coach chair, but people get way to sensitive and cape up way too fast these days. Oh, look at Mike Garlic, Mr. Sensitive, Mr. Most Caring Man Alive by lazily calling for someone to lose their livelihood over a stupid question. Let me know when he comes out and demands Brian Kelly get fired for killing a kid.

Yeah, I don't like it either, but it's not a big deal. "Hey kid, you like the company of men?" "Don't want to hurt your feelings, but you're not my type. What else would you like to talk about?" Get over it.

It’s not fine and has zero to do with “america truly needs to lighten up”, and for almost every other company or hiring manager in the United States, it’s not even legal.

It’s not an “issue” because soon-to-be millionaire athletes are resented in American society, but let a 5’3” 180 lb woman not fit into a “breastaurant’s” t-shirts and short shorts and there will be **** to pay and remote media trucks broadcasting live.

simply stating "its not fine and has zero to do with.." isnt actually an argument. i never said anything about its legality. i dont think it ought to be illegal, but thats not the same as an argument stating it is legal.

i dont resent athletes, so that's irrelevant to the opinion that i gave. and i definitely dont agree with the idea that its not an "issue". i read about it on the front page of ESPN, and ive seen twitter up in arms about it. our outrage culture is in full effect over this.

businesses should be allowed to hire however they want, and suffer the consequences of those actions. & if the NFL wants to put a stop to those questions, then so be it. its their business.

i still hold that we are becoming far too sensitive to words & ideas, and it will ultimately do more harm than good. bad ideas should be challenged and defeated. not banned.

Maybe that team is asking if he likes men because they have a *** on the team already and don't want them sucking each other off in the locker room.

“Do I like men? What do you think I am, some kind of *****? I only like one man.... and I’m looking at him.”

Lighten up, as in being accepting of people musing about your (or your Mom's) sexuality?
I know some folks are OK with this nowadays, especially Men in this country.
But that should always be a NoGo.

no. you dont have to accept anything. by all means, get upset if you feel you need to. i just think its probably an indicator of a potential weakness if you allow being asked a question like that to truly bother you. be confident in who and what you are. answer appropriately, and move on.

The idea that you can ask anything has been defeated, that’s why it’s no longer legal.

Business should be able to hire anyone they want, I have no problem with that...as long as they comply with the law.

i never said you, specifically, hated athletes; I was talking about why change hasn’t already come to the NFL. People are resentful of young, soon-to-be millionaire athletes. You can agree or not.

i guess when i say 'defeated', i mean with a better idea/argument/rebuttal, not an outright banning.

but, i agree with you about the legality of it all. just stating my opinion that i don't personally agree with it.

EDIT: also agree that there are far too many who harbor that resentment you mentioned.

Another good response would've been " somebody in this office is ***, kiss me and I'll tell ya who "

Still pretty empty here in your head Tetragrammy. I see the legal concept of BFOQ has definitely not crossed into this vast void. It's the same reason Tom Brady's wife is hired by Victoria Secret and your aforementioned 180lb wife isn't.

I expected this comment from CIS resident social justice warrior. It is a state law and not a federal law and is legal in many states.
