OT Neff Giwa

This kid is smart not to come here. He will probably never play for us as he will see that we will always recruit over him with kids his same size and way more playing experience. If SC or somewhere else is offering him more NIL and better chance to play, then let him go there. The time devoted to teaching him the game can be better spent on kids that are further along in the process with a better chance to help us win.
Just my thought. He seems to be more of a novelty piece than actual contributor to success for us.

Yeah but js went to a school that has been winning big. The two others didn’t
Relationships, he went with his boy it happens and he will still go to the league. He always was going to get there he's a major talent, we didn't need him though tbh. I thought we did but hey you never know the future till its revealed. I am good where he went, it bothered me at that time but Mario knows wth he is doing.

OTOH, based on the U$Ce OL portal candidates and the comments on CIS from SC Canes about how terrible their OL coaching was and how badly their OL regressed, hard to imagine going there vs being coached by Mirabal unless you're solely motivated by money and don't care about money/future at the next level.

That USCe offer is atleast rumored at $1 million. If you don't realize how ridiculous things are right now.

Welp, short term crazy money over development for the future with significant compensation. Next

This is why the idea someone would give him a $1m NIL is a joke lol

When U$Ce backs up the brinks truck, its almost impossible to compete with them. But its only one recruit per cycle. You just have to hope they don't distort the market for a recruit you're after.

That suck tax something serious :nba-kobe-bryant-upset:

Its a U$Ce oddball offer. See the Stewart situation.

I don’t think the $1M is true but if Giwa is getting that it makes you think what everyone else is getting

Nope, the U$Ce "back up the brinks" offer doesn't affect market pricing as everyone knows it massively above the going rate.

As we've seen before sometimes the money is too good to ignore when you've never had it previously

Very likely true in this case.

See what they did with Dylan Stewart, every three years they bag up on recruits since DS coming off the books.

Its only one per cycle (at least under Beamer), IDK if they will let the next coach do it with multiple recruits per cycle.

Pretty sure Stewart would've been a Cane if U$Ce wasn't offering life changing money. Didn't matter as much with Stewart cause he knew he was going in the 1st round regardless where he ended up.

Thought Dylan would of did work here but he wouldn’t be playing as much when we had Bain and Mezzi

Not so sure about that. Said it during the recruiting cycle, he was Bain 2.0. They would've found a way to play all three. IDK how, but they would've.

U$Ce is famous for throwing crazy money at a single recruit each cycle. I wonder if they've identified Giwa as that recruit?

We now know the answer. The 26 "back up the brinks" money couldn't go unspent. Sorta like government budget money. You don't use it, you lose it (especially if you're getting fired next year anyways).

They did try and fail with Zion Elee last cycle so the crazy money likely is still available.

Unfortunately for us, all signs point toward Jaiden "Boog" Byrant being the focus of the crazy money in the 27 cycle. Can't blame them, they probably think he's on Dylan Stewart's level and worth it. 👇🏽

As a South Carolina alum... this guy was BRUTAL to watch in 2025.

They had a total bum who we fired half way through the year which slightly improved things but they blew up 4 out of 5 starters because of the incompetence.

This is the coaching staff he just picked over Mirabal and Mario. Its not like he took crazy money to be with a good HC and good/great OL coach.

This dude wont contribute here for minimum 2 years. If he's actually going to get anywhere close to $1M...pass.
Exactly! Other than the novelty of the situation, why are we even caring about a player with zero experience at a position that we recruit and coach at an elite level? We are going to invest 3-4 years of development to hope he is good enough to start for one season? Aren't we recruiting top 10 players at the OL position on a yearly basis? Wish the kid the best but it's really whatever to me.
