OT* Local Kid

The reason I'm guessing why he wasn't recruited...is because Norland was always a mediocre team back when he played..and I don't even think he played football for 2 full years. Wasn't alot of tape, just talent and bad grades.

Antonio Brown is the local kid who shoulda been at the U we need to be talking bout.

Unquestionably the best WR in football.

Antonio Brown ended up at CENTRAL MICHIGAN. He didn't get an offer from any of the Big 3, was allegedly denied admission to FSU as a walk-on, due to his academics being a greasefire, and then followed Butch Jones to CMU, where he was a walkon until he earned a scholarship. If Miami would have signed Brown, knowing what we knew then, this fanbase would have been up in arms. This school can't take every kid in this part of the state. Yes, he's blown up, but no one knew that at the time. He was a young man who played QB at the high school level, but didn't have the arm strength to play at the next level. Athletic, but undersized, and raw. Why would Miami take that kind of player coming out of high school?

Dude was a beast in high school...He was pretty much Trayone Gray (Grade issues too), except a better runner.

Then WHY DIDN'T HE GET AN OFFER FROM ANYONE WORTH A ****? He was going to end up at Alcorn State, his grades were so bad, he couldn't even get offers from Marshall for crying out loud. If he was eligible at CMU(WHERE HE WALKED ON), you'd think he would have been eligible somewhere else. Give me a reason why Miami should have offered him a scholarship, knowing what we knew then?

-I'm not arguing against you bro...but here are the reasons why he DIDN'T get an offer
-As you've said, he was undersized...dude was 5'10 and like 165 out of high school.
-His position was not a negative on his recruitment, because he played RB, QB, WR, and even returned kicks for Norland.
-He played 5 games his SR year, idk about the previous ones but I'm fairly certain that there was not alot of film on him.
-He got into a lot of fights in school, gang related even though I'm sure he wasn't in a gang.
-Never played a full year of games.
-To top it all off, in addition to everything above, he had TERRIBLE grades.

When it comes to his actual TALENT, he was Miami quality. That's the point I'm trying to make. Randy Shannon was a Norland alumni and had no problems keeping up with his grades...they were too bad for a scholarship offer.

Antonio Brown was that kid you knew in high school that had all the talent in the world but just couldn't get it together. Somewhere along the way he finally did. Look at him now.

THis...

theres like 5-6 of these kids in s.fla EVERY recruiting class...AB just was a kid that ACTUALLY turned it on and kept working..alot of his types give up right after sr year..or have HIGH fake dreams....like Eddie Jackson's brother...Demar Dorsey.

AB went to a prep..got his grades...contacted and actually walked on and stayed with a friend and earn his sh*t at CMU. Lots of kids wont do that.
