Respect, man.

Dude has 2 yrs of coaching experience, and now has 2 Big 12 Conference titles, 2 CFP appearances, and 2 Heisman trophy winners from two kids that transfered in.

If OU could ever solve their Defensive woes, look out. Dude is a good coach. They had UGA were they wanted them last yr, but that defense is leaky af. But credit where credit is due.

If he hires a good DC they could be the ones to end up being the next dynasty in CFB instead of UGA.
Ok so just for the sake of asking if you were him would you give Jess Simpson a shot???
Only reason I bring it up is if by chance Manny leaves us to take a HC gig somewhere I think CMR would make him DC here...

**** no. I would not give some guy who only coached in HS and one year as DL coach the opportunity to be the DC.

I agree, no way Jess is even remotely qualified for a DC position this year, even a mid major would be jumping the gun in hiring him.

For comparison purposes, we can all consider Pruitt a legit coach at minimum. He took the same route (promotion from long time high school coach instead of GA) and got hired at Bama for Director of development (3 years) and Defensive backs (3 years) before becoming a DC. 6 full years an an assistant under Saban.

So we just need a transfer QB...problem solved. Kidding...but if you know any give them a call

Riley was both a quarterback and a staff member under Leach. He became a full-time assistant coach at Texas Tech under Leach when he was just 23.

Riley is the best offensive guy and has the # 1 offense in the whole **** country.

guaranteed he is going to fix the Sooners D with a new DC.

back to back Heismans at QB same team .... wow !

remember this post, if Urban isn't the next Browns coach, Lincoln is. If Urban sits out a year, he's going to be the cowboys coach next season when Jason gets fired. If urban is the Browns new head coach, Lincoln will take the cowboys job next season.

Urb is done. He is not healthy and will probably only get worse. No more coaching gigs for ol' Urb.

Riley may have learned from Leach but he took the concepts from the Air Raid and has tweaked them - made them even better. He has added a dimension with that run game in OU that makes it impossible to stop. Not only that, he incorporates the TE as well.

He’s a good coach but If he was the HC in any other conference he would have zero conference titles or playoff appaearances. The best situation fell into his lap... Oklahoma was already on top of the BIG 12 before he got there and the rest of the league is trash or building.

He should be in the NFL next year.

With the success of Sean McVay and Matt Nagy, teams should be dropping a brinks truck off for Riley, especially the Browns.
