That settlement in the hands of a competent financial planner should ensure that Kap is able to put money into the causes he cares about, while also ensuring that he lives relatively decently. The NFL should have not blackballed a guy, just because he holds a political opinion that the mouth breathers that make up a part of the NFL fanbase doesn't like. It's shameful that in this country a guy saying that cops shouldn't be allowed to ignore people's constitutional rights is wrong, but a guy who has built a career on defrauding and ******** people over can be elected President.
Then again, we've seen that there's nothing more dangerous to the status quo than an athlete or anyone of power having the guts to point out that the current system doesn't work for many. There's a reason why Ali was seen as the bad guy for most of his life, that is until he was unable to fully articulate his thoughts. There's a reason why Curt Flood is forgotten about, but his stand gave generations of athletes a say in their own future. Those that have the courage to stand up against injustice are rarely beloved, but history tends to be kind to them.
