Your swag is like 5 years behind. Everything you wear down south was hot here 5 years ago. That is a fact. Just go look at a NY dudes IG and check back 5 years. You will see what you guys are wearing. YOur still rocking gold teeth LMFAO.

Nope we get our dope from the Dominicans. Exactly. Thats false. You do the gang schit, but just suck at it. The crews are small and unorganized. They get busted all the time and they make no money. Then they suck at shooting and use antique weapons.

Again, no. Southern rap took off once people in the burbs started listening to rap and it was no longer hood music. Then it was ok to not be a gangster and still rap. If Ross was rapping in the 90s he would have been dropped from his label when the CO stuff came out. These southern rappers wouldn't dare beef with a NY rapper besides a select few like Boosie and even he would lose if he took it to the streets.

You think its a coincidence that southern rap took off after all the burbs people started listening to raapp and it became ok for soft, never in the street dudes to start rapping?

But rap is all y'all are good at LOL.

Y'all may have a good media machine, but as far as musical talent, the South runs $h!t.

I mean, what's the last good R & B act to come outta NY...112???

This convo is waaaaay out of my lane.....anyone else like the Foo Fighters?
They still kick ***👍😊

It was just party music, man.
Yall hip-hop heads over dissect that ****.
It was created to get b!ctches loose and it did it's job throughout the whole 90's.
Yep. We didn’t listen to 2 Live Crew for the lyrics. That **** was funny, and great for parties.
I never realized how localized the whole "Miami Bass" scene was until I moved to Orlando. We would throw house parties in college and of course we'd have to play some DJ Uncle Al, Splack Pack, 2Live, DJ Laz, Gucci Crew, all the classics. Man, nobody up there knew any of that ****. I mean, I'm a white Hispanic dude who grew up in the suburbs and even there we still had the right party music. How the **** else were you supposed to get all the chicks to shake their asses?
we used to play that **** in DC in the mid/late 80s after moving up there from Miami. No one had a clue what it was until 2 Live Crew blew up with the whole censorship ****. Used to play Too Short as well and no one knew he was either.
Miami Bass Machine tapes
Gucci Crew
MC Shy D
Uncle Al
Jam Pony Express

Good times man.

Thanks for ruining the thread ********. Who gives a **** if you’re from New York or Miami or Alaska. Everyone has different taste and views things differently.

**** off with my city or my music is better than yours **** and get back to reminiscing about the 80s.

jeezus you guys just **** all over a decent thread. NY this NY that...honestly, it's tiresome. Yeah, I love NYC - it's a great city, but honestly, there are fake tough guys there just like any other big city. There are tough guys - fine. NYC has 10M people. Why are you all comparing it to a city that has 1M-2M? It's just a silly debate.

Until I read this...

Not surprised considering you went to some wack *** club in NYC lmao. We got 4.5 million girls and you got 300k in miami, but ya you got more hot women. FOH with that BS.

Yes, of course NYC has "more" b/c it's 5+X the size of miami. But, per capita, it's not close. NYC may have more PRs and Dominicans but Miami has the market cornered with Cubans and South Americans and THAT puts it on top, my man.

South FL chicks are more willing to be in relationships and settle down. These NYC chicks tend to be serial daters. To me, that counts.
South Florida chicks are more willing to settle down? One thing I loved about being single in this town during my 20s ( late 90s-late 00s) women in Miami were just as bad as men. They couldn’t wait to give it up. Made it much easier for me

Have you ever lived in NYC? I'm speaking from experience with both spots.

Not so fast, my friend. NY ni&&@$ and the like (up north cats) have ALWAYS gotten their slang from the south. Y’all ni&&@$ come down south to visit grandma and see your cousins and pick up the verbiage. Then y’all take that **** back to NY and because you had the exposure (media, radio, etc.), it was disseminated nationally and thus, view as originating from NY, etc.. Notice how the fall of NY rap coincides perfectly with the explosion of social media? Now everyone can disseminate info on the same platform, at the same rate. It’s no coincidence. But It has ALWAYS been that way. Facts. Up north ni&&@$ will always view southern ni&&@$ as “country”!and “slow” and southern ni&&@$ will always view up north ni&&@$ as “soft” and “corny”. It was what it was and is what it is...
I wont even comment on the slang cause it's not relevant to me but did you really just say the fall of ny Hip hop is because of social media?

Those "piece of ****" 70's cars we ride in down here cost more than them financed Benzes/Beemers yall covet up North, son!

People from Cali and NY aren't making Southern style records?! Are you serious?
EVERY FVCKIN' HIT from NY has a Southern bounces to it now-a-days.

Go follow Rutgers dude!
Can all of yall please leave music up off of here. Besides that music now doesn't have a base like that any more. Unless you're going to say bpms & programmers (station managers) are biased to a certain region than you'd be of base.
