Again, no. Southern rap took off once people in the burbs started listening to rap and it was no longer hood music. Then it was ok to not be a gangster and still rap. If Ross was rapping in the 90s he would have been dropped from his label when the CO stuff came out. These southern rappers wouldn't dare beef with a NY rapper besides a select few like Boosie and even he would lose if he took it to the streets.

You think its a coincidence that southern rap took off after all the burbs people started listening to raapp and it became ok for soft, never in the street dudes to start rapping?

we used to play that **** in DC in the mid/late 80s after moving up there from Miami. No one had a clue what it was until 2 Live Crew blew up with the whole censorship ****. Used to play Too Short as well and no one knew he was either.

jeezus you guys just **** all over a decent thread. NY this NY that...honestly, it's tiresome. Yeah, I love NYC - it's a great city, but honestly, there are fake tough guys there just like any other big city. There are tough guys - fine. NYC has 10M people. Yes, of course NYC has "more" b/c it's 5+X the size of miami. But, per capita, it's not close. NYC may have more PRs and Dominicans but Miami has the market cornered with Cubans and South Americans and THAT puts it on top, my man.

South Florida chicks are more willing to settle down? One thing I loved about being single in this town during my 20s ( late 90s-late 00s) women in Miami were just as bad as men. They couldn’t wait to give it up. Made it much easier for me

Can all of yall please leave music up off of here. Besides that music now doesn't have a base like that any more. Unless you're going to say bpms & programmers (station managers) are biased to a certain region than you'd be of base.
