OT - Houston Astros hit with hard penalties for cheating scandal

None of the cheaters even bother being apologetic and still act superior. Throw at every last one of them repeatedly.
I doubt anyone is gonna care about their whining to be protected

Dude ain't lying. Only astro fans will be mad

That title should be stripped man. I rather throw to someone who was taking peds then someone who knows a pitch. I played baseball hard when I was young. Figuring out pitches on your own without technology is ok but what Houston did is bad....anyone defending them is a Houston homer man.

Funny watching other fan bases like all teams aren’t doing this...

“Competitive advantages” yet the Yankees and dodgers never like talking about wanting to institute a hard salary cap to you know keep things competitive..

Astros biggest crime was getting caught... just like the steroid era baseball turned a blind eye until names and a team in this case got thrown out to the wolves. MLB acts appalled.. makes some crappy punishments meant more to warn anyone else from doing this going forward

Doing what the Astros did and talking about salary caps are 2 totally different things

Now Dusty Baker is trying to make the Astros the victims...

Houston manager Dusty Baker: MLB needs to step in to stop "premeditated" targeting of Astros hitters with pitches from opponents angry at their cheating.

News story at ESPN: https://t.co/JNJAwXtRJW

Hard penalties, LOL? This wasn't even a slap on the wrist. More like a ******* from Manfred. A real commissioner would have vacated titles and handed out year-long suspensions.

Sign stealing has been around for ever is part of baseball culture. https://www.newyorker.com/sports/sp...ally-so-bad-bobby-valentine-has-some-thoughts

Plus all this talk a out opposing pitchers throwing at them is only that talk.
It goes both ways so the astros don't need protection from the commissioner, they can protect themselves.

Kick the asses of the first team that throws at them a d problem solve for the rest of the season.

Once the players were given immunity and knew they werent gonna strip them of the title they could careless about apologizing. Theyre not sorry and you could tell by their half assed statements. Even the owner is getting ****y saying "well i did take action I fired the GM and Hinch"

The GM and Manager paid the price....the players should have paid a price as well.

I have a feeling the Astros will be involved in a lot of benches clearing brawls this year.

So you think Houston will be involved in lots of bench clearing brawls for cheating huh

Doubtful

Just like NE wasn't after they REPEATEDLY cheated in the NFL??

What fans want to happen VS. What actually does is hardly ever in sync

Go listen to what opposing players and pitchers are saying. Why is Dusty Baker already asking for protection for his players?

Yeah talk is cheap. Especially tough talk

Once the game starts players are focused on winning NOW...not wishing that they could have cheated as well as Houston did, stopped them OR trying to find ways to further punish them.

When a new season starts, players and teams are more focused on winning THIS YEAR'S title....NOT reliving the past and things that they cannot change

That type of coulda, shoulda, woulda nonsense is left for the fans and other non participants who don't play the game.

Just make your signs more complicated. It's like if the 3rd base coach touches his chin once it's always a steal. Every team would know that. That is why you see these very complicated set of hand gestures. Do the same with the catcher. Or hey better yet. Give the pitcher a tiny ear piece (technology) and just tell him directly the pitch, all the while still having the catcher give dummie signs.

They will absolutely be thrown at this year and theyre will be a lot of trash talk that escalates. The problem now is those players will get ejected and pay the price while the Astros players don't
